Nylon hair??
« on: July 30, 2013, 08:34:46 PM »
I am interested in pony customs, and have a dream to make my own custom pony. :P  But I really need some help from more experienced cutomizers - please, please... where do you buy Nylon hair?.. I just had a terrible shopping time with dollyhair with no communication and no shipping info at all, which made me worried and upset, and then I realised that many websites that provided the Nylon hair for ponies closed now and not selling them anymore (like custompony.com and mylittlecustoms.com)

So.. I am a bit lost. Any advice?

Thank you so much! Useful link.

Anyone got any success with Dollyhair.com? I got no replies (sent 3-4 emails) and no shipping notification from them (made 2 orders). Like the website is dead?
Also, anyone knows what happened to My Little Customs (UK)? All their Nylon hair is out of stock..

I've had good luck with dollyhair, but it takes a long time. Usually ships 2-3 weeks and then arrives pretty quickly once the order is processed. But the hair quality is good and the color match is spot on.
I'm not really on here anymore. Email me if you need my for something.

Since you are outside the US shipping will take even longer.  The last few orders I have purchased took about 3-4 weeks but I am also in the US.  She has a great product though so it's worth the wait.  You can try Retro Dolls too ... about the same shipping time from my experience, but I do like her selection of non-nylon hair.

I generally order from DH and haven't had any problems. But yeah, you have to be a little patient I'm afraid.

I'm another long-time Dollyhair supporter.  What she lacks in communication skills, she makes up for with a fabulous product.  I've also had success with Retrodolls, but I don't order from them as often.

I'm in Canada and all 3 of my Dollyhair orders have arrived about 2-3 weeks after ordering.  I've never gotten a shipping notice and when I was concerned that I hadn't heard anything with my first order I emailed her about it and she got back to me a few days later, which was right at the same time that the order arrived!

I would think that Australia would take considerably longer...possibly as long as 4-6 weeks?

I too have ordered from Dollyhair... 3 times I think. It's wonderful hair!  I just placed an order for UV color-changing hair from My Little Customs. I'm sure that will take a while to get since she's in the UK and I'm in the states. Can't wait to rehair my 2 sunshine ponies!

I don't want to start or hear any bickering anymore about sites, but I buy products from anyone that sells them. I buy from DollyHair and Retrodolls (both the UK and US sites) and both have amazing products. I've never had a problem with either site. Sometimes there are unforseen circumstances like delayed mail, etc.. so I usually never fault anyone for that. :)

I'm a long time customer of Dollyhair.com. It's not that I'm opposed to ordering from other places but for me it comes down to price and selection - $3.12 for nylon, $2.50 for saran and custom color blending free of charge.
The free custom blends are a big deal for me as I use them a lot. Another thing not everyone realizes is that you can order a blend NOT blended, in other words you get two half hanks of two different colors for the same price. This is super convenient when you only want a little bit of a certain color or need multiple colors for one custom. ;)

SoldierofTwilight, thank you kindly. :)

Pop-girl, oh my... that is so clever... why didn't I think about that before!  It just gives you more possibilities - that way you can even try some colours you were unsure to buy in a full hank for some reason! :)

Same thing Pop said - I use a lot of blends, so I order mostly from DH.
