Cleaning porcelains?
« on: July 28, 2013, 04:08:46 PM »
I have a porcelain mlp that is a bit dusty and dirty. Any suggestions on a way to gently clean it? I used a baby wipe but I was wondering if there was something better.

I use a very gentle toothbrush/soap/water. If there are still tags or stickers on your piece you will want to keep them dry by titling the piece so that water does not flow over them.

I have cleaned six porcelain pieces in this way.

Same as other bisque porcelain figures. If it's just dust use a soft paint brush to just dust it off. If it's caked on Use a mild soap to create a sudsy water, then gently wipe each with a damp soft cloth. NEVER submerge in water. Wipe off excess water with a dry cloth. Stubborn spots a bit of baking soda mixed with water works wonders. Place a towel on a table or countertop to let the figurines air dry before putting them back in their place.

Yes I agree with Ivy :) Try everything you can without water - a brush or soft duster initially and then something like a damp cloth or baby wipe. If there are harder to reach parts which are a little stubborn then I use a damp q-tip.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi
