Well, I mostly collect custom ponies, and I make customs too. I've gotten mostly positive responses from people who think that it's really cool. I've made a few ponies for my both of my sisters' friends.

I have had people and family say that I have a store of ponies in my house! They like to just stand there and look at them few a few minutes!

I've actually never received a negative comment from anyone regarding my collection.  I guess I just know really cool people.

While he'll never understand why I blow my paycheck on miniature equestrians, my dad is impressed with what I've done to secondhand ponies. He likes how I keep them clean and orderly.

Most of the people just get excited and tell me how they used to have this pony and that pony when they were growing up. Its nice. 

Oh and so many people ask me that if its creepy to have ponies staring at me while I sleep.

Hahaha yupp. I usually get get people trying to describe the ones they had...usually the ones they describe don't exist

I have incredible support from my grandma. she's always asking to see them when I get some new ones, and she thinks it's nice how I clean them up from mangy old playthings and give them new llife as collectors items. In fact, when I first started, she was the one person who supported me and became enthusiastic for me.

People at work are awesome abouut it too, and the biggest compliments come from the absolute nicest girl ever. She says it's unique and fun, and she loves how enthusiastic I am about ponies. There is this one girl though who "oh my god"s me about it (and other things), but the way I see it, is that if people have a problem with someone having a hobby, then I feel sorry for them because I would think their life to be quite boring.

I enjoy it when I tell people I collect ponies and they seem to assume that it means I have three or four.  Then, when they're over at my house, if ponies come up again, I take them to my pony room and they are always *always* blown away   I've got three and a half floor-to-ceiling shelving units crammed full, with more that still need shelves.  Sometimes people feel kind of awkward around the fact that a grown woman collects toys (not in a negative way, it's just kind of like they don't really know what to say) but usually, they're in awe and kind of laugh and say "That is awesome!"

It is worth noting that I am kind of picky about who I actually show my ponies to.  If I feel like I'm going to get a lecture or negative feedback, I opt to not let that person in to this part of my life.  I've told myself from the start that the second my ponies quit making me smile is the day that I will quit collecting and sell them all, and I don't need other people trying to take that happiness from me

My Dad thinks the animation on FiM is cool, although the episodes are hit-or-miss for him on the rare occasion he watches.

My Mom and sister are kind of "meh" to the whole pony-collecting thing, I've got going on. As for others... the people that've been to my room recently, didn't say anything - I guess they just pretended the whole whopping six shelves of ponies don't exist.

Last year, I had one friend come over to my house for a short period of time: she told me my collection was nice, and that the ponies are cute. But, like I said, it was last year. At that time my collection was much smaller than it is today, so I don't if her reaction would've been the same if she saw it now.

Since a lot of my friends are old enough to have young children, the most common comment I get is, "My daughter likes My Little Pony, too!"

My ponies are all in my computer room, so pretty much everyone that comes inside sees them. I've never had a negative reaction other than playful teasing from my friends. Even the people who 'don't get it' will usually still take a look, and tell me "this one's cute!" or "I like the blue one!".
