Could use some "help" from other dog lovers!!

It really isn't help, exactly. Some of you older members may remember my website, I've put it here in off topic a couple of times - www.worldlydogs.com - and I have just had a HUGE revamp I would love to share if anyone wants to stop by. I've still got about 50 pages that are missing photos, but they'll be up within the week.

I've focused heavily on the history of dog breeds, where they come from, who is who's ancestor/descendent and am pretty proud of how far it has come since its early days. I just finished the AKC so every breed is represented and now have a total of 330 breeds overall.

I also set up a Facebook page if anyone wants to check that out where we do daily trivia and are starting a bit of a community, its still slow going, but we're having a blast and would love to have more join in!! www.facebook.com/worldlydogs

I'm writing a series on articles about dogs and for my "how to select a best breed for your family"  one, I consulted your site for a few breeds.   It's really well done and there's a ton of information!   I love the temperament table, came in handy.

Awesome page! I, of course, immediately went to check what you have on Icelandic Shepherds (my baby is a mix of labrador and IS ) and I was so happy you had a page on them Let me know if you need any info or pictures ever.

oh, and just one thing, although dogs are officially banned because of what you wrote, no one ever enforces that and there are many dogs around. Iceland is notoriously slow in changing laws (many laws are centuries old from times of Danish rule etc). Any animal entering Iceland now has to go to a quarantine for some weeks to prevent these disasters from happening ever again.

they are also really common here which is great since they are lovely dogs I'll be sure to browse through your page some more, great job!

Neat page! I was so obsessed with dog breeds as a kid and even wrote my own dog breed encyclopedia and cut out pictures of the breeds and glued them in.

Thank you all so much!!! I'm glad so many of you enjoyed the site. Vintergatan, I will be sure to update the Icelandic Sheepdog page just a bit, thanks for the info!!! Sometimes it is really hard for me to find information for different countries, France is the WORST because a lot of their breeds are really obscure.

or what not to feed your dog, or possible health "human" snacks?
that's always the kind of sites i search for.
maybe doesn't directly apply, but can definately draw a different audience to the site.

I would love to add more dog info all around when I get the chance, but right now I'm focused on trying to finish the histories, that's where my passion is and there are a lot of breeds out there that its difficult to find any info on that I want to get added. I have about 70 more breeds to add and then I'll have all of the breeds recognized by "major" kennel clubs.

Nice  I had to give an infromational speech a while back and my topic was the history of the American Eskimo Dog.

If i remember correctly, it had something to do with larger pomaranians and white keeshounds becoming unfashionable with european society and that somehow led to the development of the american eskimo.

The name american eskimo actually came from the name of a kennel    or so claims animal planet

Awesome!  I've been trying to memorize all the dog breeds since I was 7 and I love learning about the history of dogs so I'll definitely enjoy the site! Thanks for posting it!

Not sure if its information your looking for but Jack Russell's should be at least 55% white, and can also come in red/white and well Tri-color and brown/white.

Cavaliers is my other breed and I love that you listed the heart and skull problems, so many people over look this. They are a lovely breed and I love my Chloe but they are not always the healthiest.  I believe they also can have eye issues.  Oh and they are heat sensative like other short nosed breeds because they don't get the air exchange to cool down like other dogs.  I have to be so careful with Chloe because she is ball crazy and will not stop when she is overheated and people just keep throwing it for her.  The one day I came home from work, she was acting really strange (didn't greet me ect.). Not only was she overheated, I looked at her feet cause she was walking very gingerly.  She ran so much she wore soars on all 4 feet.

Anyway back on subject! It's a great site.
