I would say for a first time swap, stick to official ponies. Oc's can get really complex. They may have gradients, complex cuties, horns and who knows what else.

I'd be really interested! OCs & ponysonas would be fine to work with, as long as they're not waaay off-the-wall complex... let's say, stick to "hasbro-style" levels of complexity for anything you suggest.

It might work if the plushies people contributed were sorted according to time spent working on them?... since there are soooo many styles of plushies, from tiny little chibi things to huge FiM-style on-model creations. So, you could enter under the 8-hour, 12-hour, etc. categories. If you enter under the 8-hour category, you could make 8 mini plushies that take you an hour to sew each, or one big plushie that takes you 8 hours. (roughly!) Or you could make it one time requirement for everyone. It's kind of like a spending limit on shopping swaps... time is money after all. Plus this way, it allows for a lot of leeway with people's styles and preferences of plush-making, and plus nobody should get really shorted with all the work they put in!

Ooh, nice! I will have to do a test run on a pattern to see how it pairs up with a G1 plush. Luckily, I found one at a thrift store recently.
