The anti brag thread of vent
« on: July 07, 2013, 04:16:07 AM »
So I went to Adelaide's only two flea markets today - nothing.

A couple of waaaay overpriced g3s, and a whole bunch of people who seemingly had never heard of mlps. I gave out a few businesses cards, but I don't expect much.

What was really weird though was the amount of cabbage patch dolls. And so many Bratz.

Grrrrrrrrrrr!

Anyone else have an unsuccessful pony hunt this weekend?

I just keep finding G3's like CRAZY and 1 G4 Pinkie. Despite my "no pony left behind" mentality, I left them behind. I do like the G3's, but I just can't afford to get them at this place...they ask $3.00 a pop! Ridiculous!!

Keep your chin up guys I sometimes go weeks with no luck but this weekend I found a 1981 My Pretty Pony in pretty great condition and a MLP coloring book from 1984 and about 10 g3s and one g2 so you never know you just have to stay positive and keep up the hunt and never underestimate the fact that you are not the only person hunting in your area......and I only spent 3 bucks

It happens. My flea marketing area is where people rent booths and put their old stuff in there. Te same boob and stuff might sit for a year, so I don't even go Flea Marketing al the time since rotations aren't that great. Not a lot of ponies to find.

It helps to have a variety of things you like to find. I enjoy furniture and house pieces and books. I can almost always find at least one thing.

I don't think I've found any ponies in a thrift store yet... I hope to someday... I know how it feels to not find ponies at a thrift store...

I had good thrift store luck the first time I went out (Waverunner and Rattles with just a few flaws!) but not again so far (about 2 months now).  My hubby and I joke about all the Beanie Babies everywhere, though- it's as though all the people who collected them to become rich finally gave up and gave them away!

I must admit, I'm amazed at the quantity of Barbie, Cabbage Patch, and even Troll dolls everywhere compared to MLP :(

Neighborhood garage sale was two weeks ago. Not only didn't I find any ponies, I also didn't find ANY toys...at least the kinds I collect. And no kid's books, another thing I'm always looking for. Poohie :(

Yup!  I know how you're feeling!

I've been doing an antique run once a week now, and I collect more than MLP, and I have found NOTHING!  Absolutely nothing!

On the other hand, I've been dragging along my bestfriend/roommate and have been worrying she'd be bored of tears.  She, on the other hand, has been finding all sorts of books she's been wanting everywhere we've gone.  Least no worries of her being bored!

Ive been to numerous garage sales, yard sales, flea markets, etc. Ive never found anything, well at least not a real Hasbro pony. I have two huge fakies I thought were cute though... Been searching since sometime last year..
I know how you feel.. :hmm:
It's never any fun coming home from a pony hunt empty handed, but you can't lose hope! ^.^

Everyone's an MLP collector thats the problem :P

I have been searching for MLPs for a very long time, like so many others. And to date my finds are - one CP Applejack and 3 [or maybe 4 I cant remember] Baby Stellas! All in? Woeful and seldom finding anything!

Keep looking though, over the years I have heard so many amazing stories and finds, so you never know what luck you may have. :)
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

I have yet to find any ponies in a second hand store. There was one place that had a few but I have them already and they were pretty gross looking. They were G3 ponies to.
