Hi everyone! I have a quick question for cosplayers.
« on: July 02, 2013, 12:12:53 AM »
Hello.

This year I decided to cosplay as Vanellope Von Schweetz from Wreck-It Ralph. Since she is my favorite character (and since I have a history of horrible cosplay), I wanted this to look spectacular. I decided to ad a string of LED lights to the jacket in order to get the glitch affect that Vanellope has in the movie. I tried placing the lights in the jacket in order to get an idea of how they would look when the costume is done. Unfortunately, it did not come out the way I expected. The lights shine bright, but they only appear as individual spots. What I need is for them to give off that glow affect that looks like one unified light.

It's hard to explain, and I don't have any photos of the actual jacket, but I can give examples. What I want is a glow affect similar to the one that fibre optic fabric gives off, and not the one you'd see if you put Christmas lights in your shirt.

Does anyone have any idea how to do this?

Hmmmm Not a clue. I'd think it would need to be something rather bright though to succeed.....

Stuff like BPT posted should work.  I know some fursuiters who use these.

Hmmm. That sounds interesting, but I don't know how to do that for a jacket. Do you think that would work?
