Bear with me here, it's going to make sense . . .
So, my husband and I have been married 7 years, dated for a year before that, and were friends for 4 years before that. We both brought bath towels into the marriage from college, so they're at least 12 years old. My husband's are even older because his grandmother gave him some embroidered ones when he was in high school.
Today I finally bought new bath towels and wash cloths. There's nothing particularly wrong with our towels. They're definitely faded but perfectly usable. Really all they have to do is absorb water, right?
So was it for our benefit that I decided to buy new towels? Nope! The rags I use while cleaning up ponies were getting too beat up.
The humans didn't get new towels because we need nice towels. Nope, the ponies needed nicer towels. What the ponies want, the ponies get.
Now to clarify, we aren't totally nuts. The humans are getting the new towels while the ponies get the old ones. However, I think the ponies are a little upset with me about this arrangement.
