South African Ponies - info and pc and stuff?
« on: June 29, 2013, 09:53:07 AM »
Hi all... I'm still a complete Newbie when it comes to all the nuances of collecting Nirvana ponies. I have some, but not a large number... somewhere between... 20-30 probably? So still a small collection...

But, ever since I found out about South African ponies, I've desperately wanted one. I don't own any Venne's or any Piggy's... I only have a few Greeks (2?) and most of the rest are like Peru, Argie, Mexico, Italy... nothing super duper special...

I decided that after the pony fair (and my international school conference) and I would like to start trying to target getting myself a SA pony.... So I had some questions! :)

-How often to SA ponies come about?
-The gallery is down so... is SA Seashell confirmed to exist?
-How much would something like SA Bubbles or Seashell cost?
-Best way to go about finding a SA pony?

I just would love to be able to add just one to my collection, but I have no direction as to even how to begin finding something like this... just looking for advice! Thank you!

Good luck in your search! It's my dream as  well as many others to obtain an South African pony and they hardly, if ever pop up! As for Seashell, I think Ember1 owns her so she'll probably be more help on her officialness.

Well I'm not really "competition" for getting one... but I'd like to know at least... how to have my feelers out there to perhaps one day get one... :)

Hi Sunshine! SA ponies don't come up often for sale. Maybe a few times a year at most. The best place to find them I think is here in the arena.

I think there are at least 2 Bubbles and 2 seashells found so far. I might be wrong. Start saving up cause SA can go for $2k to $3k or even more depending on pony and condition.

They rarely come up for sale :( Very rarely. There are only a handful of each of the ones known. Seashell definitely exists though.

Expect to pay a minimum of $1000 for one. How much more depends on which one. There is a SA auction or similar site, but I forget the name.

Thank you all! The prices are most what I was interested in. That means a lot of saving, so, perhaps when my stars align and I have enough cash I can track one down. I don't even care if it's not Bubbles or Seashell, though they are my two top picks if there was an unlimited supply of them, haha!

I appreciate it!

There are two seashells in existence and a number of bubbles :)

I agree that you will have to pay a minimum of $1000, but they can run to over $3000.

I got my SA Sunlight in a lot on UK ebay, but they have turned out is Australia, Canada and the US I believe. They have been found on bidorbuy which is the African version of ebay.

Thank you all!

I appreciate it. I know I won't be able to get one this year, but I hope in a few years I may be able to get lucky enough to find.... Any of them, haha.

I know it can be a big competitive world in Nirvana collecting sometimes for certain ponies so I even appreciate you guys letting me in on the secrets of potentially finding one one day...

Thanks!

Lol - I've been waiting for mention of that heart throb here on the arena as it was in the background of a recent auction photo for another pony. I've held that pony in person  ^.^  The owner isn't a member here.
