xD im sorry but this is very vague, so I need an expert... my friend and I are trying to remember the name of a anime and all we can remember were there was creepy murderous invisible children with insanely long arms...

Elfen Lied...very very twisted and gory...and also incredibly depressing. I've heard the manga is better, but I did really like the anime.
A lot of anime fans don't like it because it is sort of a gateway anime, and is very "dark and edgy" and heavy with the gore and fanservice/nudity.

I thought it was pretty good, but the ending was very vague and sad.

Now you're all making me want to find my copy of Elfen Lied to see.  I know the murdurous part was there but I don't seem to recall invisible children with long arms.

but yes im weird xD I like twisted gory things, and the more we talk about it the more im thinking it really was elfen lied, so eventually when i get a chance ill need to watch that again and verify xD

But Elfen Lied wasn't one of them. As disturbing as it was, I really enjoyed it. I love horror, though.

Eh, not really, I've finished a lot of very crappy animes. In fact, I'm a completist and I always finish what I start even if I hate it. Me not finishing EL is a very big statement as to how I feel about it.

And it's not even for the gory-ness and horror (I don't mind those) but I just found the main female character disgusting, and when she peed herself, I just couldn't take it any more, ugh. (basically I found that fetishising what is essentially a retarded little girl was more than I can take)
