Is anyone else addicted to collecting TB prototypes, even duplicates??

I mean, I always loved prototypes but they are just so fun! It's gotten to the point where when I make a TB order now, I like to throw in extras, sometimes even if I already have one, just because sometimes they end up so much prettier than the ponies that get real releases.

For example, the wonderful Marigold got me a small army of prototypes in the Girly Swap, and now I keep hunting around for extras of them because I love them so much!

It's totally weird because I'm not really a duplicate collector, but when it comes to the little frankenponies, I can't resist!

I love collecting them but only get one of each. I leave the rest for others to enjoy them

I usually just order one or two more of each, but it seems like they're always on Taobao, so I don't feel too bad about it.

Usually most of my TB orders are stuff for other people It's fun!

gah I see so many I want If I had the cash I might buy a few but I don't have an agent either I do LOVE the picture people post of them though

I have a few extras of them.  I really love the prototypes.  I'm tempted to get more too because I like the weirdness of them.  I'm not big into the head swap ponies, but alternate hair colors and mix n match symbols are great.  I hope to find some of the rare unique ones someday too.

Oh I'm the same way! I love all the crazy prototypes- and when there is something fun (unless it is expensive like those FS glitter ponies) I'll order a few for future swaps

I don't collect the head-swaps- and the hair-swaps are kinda neat- but nothing I'd pay serious $$ over-  I love first and foremost the unproduced stuff (like wingless RD, and White FS Celestia (who I don't have yet) and the translucent ponies)  -  I collect on a regular basis the mistakes and symbol swaps/body mold mishaps ...

Hehe, I know that feeling, Starflower. Mine have been pretty accommodating though! I haven't caught anything too interesting (except an alicorn Rarity, that was neat), but I'm hoping I will!

Actually - I think the days were any of us will find a big pile of unusual prototypes and actually get them- are gone.  SOOOO many people use Taobao now that when something special comes up- it is gone instantly.   Even the Factory people have wised up and a lot of the special stuff is going directly to ebay...

I will collect them if they are unique enough, like others I am not really interested in random re hairs or head/body swaps - but ponies like wingless Dash or white Celestia then yes.

I just love that as collectors we can all find different things to focus our passion and interest on. Do you have pictures of your prototype army MidnightMocha?
