It would make sense from a factory stand point. Especially if you have a batch of 1000 that didn't dye properly. If you have limited amount of supplies and need to push x amount of product
out the door you will need to make the most of what you have.

so sorry if I sounded harsh in my previous posts - so not my intention

yep = here's my Colombian yellow rainbow stash =

so in my case, all of the blue/pink half row is on the underside not the top-side like yours which is why I just think it looks weird to me, not saying it's not legit, just it doesn't resemble the others I have = so ha :-) = another excuse for a future pony comparison get together ;-)

see - sorry for not a great photo = here's how all mine just seem a lot more blended on the rainbow colors

and since I only have peg babies that are marked Colombian, all I can do is compare to a mexi - the plastic is the giveaway as Colombians are "squishy"

I don't suspect that the factory went through the trouble of a paint dip but of course, maybe - I'll have to bring pink with yellow bows bowtie for a comparison and we can see if the color is a match

as for me?  Im totally in the minority opinion thinking this seems more like the UK painting time that you have... good point that argies have been painted and good point to push x product vs. waste when you have a batch problem, but since this is the only one, it's now a toss-up for either or neither to me

if her plastic is squishy like your Colombian bowtie than that makes her made in Colombia and not mexico  and congrats on having an awesome Colombian pony supplier :-)

Yes her body hair and paint job matches baby bowtie to the T so I definitely deem her legit.. Only question is why she was coated.
We will have to do a get together because its more of an enamel than a paint.. And something I would think would only have been used
in the factory or when designing a pony.. Its very similiar to the paint time proto pony that I have.

yah she definitely had me thinking more it was like your painting time .... too bad Colombians are just so impossibly rare and she's so far an only one as it is an intriguing thought about how to rescue a pony mold

wait - your baby bowtie has painted symbols and body color?  Or you have a momma shy pose bowtie like this

http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSOU3NsM_5edhRTSoHKohnaaumsYvABYDCcKj9prJVpY3dvV-ub

sorry for link - I'll go grab my girl ina bit and update

yah it's definitely curious about the paint type, but it does make some sense that the paint can't be like old acrylic or it wouldn't adhere well to the plastic for decades

Baby bowtie is not painted. She is solid plastic through and through.. This one is the only one I have ever seen that is painted. but the paint consistency on the symbols match baby bowtie's which is what I was referencing.

Indeed, that's very possible! I've wondered something similar with regard to the Argie painted ponies myself.

yes I have thought that as well, the argie ponies that have been painted white are a mucky sort of off white/cream.

My orange Bowtie has paint on her right neck and side, at first I thought it was a touch up, but it is on there really well and shiny so wasn't sure what to think.
