My Red Roses has dreadlocks... Fixed! Pics first post
« on: June 11, 2013, 07:20:16 AM »
How can I make her hair poofy and pretty again?

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

I've never had many pp ponies with problem hair and the hair seems fragile so I don't want to ruin it.

ETA: after cleaning!

She has huuuuge poofy hair again :squee:

They're really easy to style! Just do it as if it would be a normal pony, the hair is not actually fragile at all. I always use shampoo and conditioner. Then just comb it through with a plastic comb. You might lose some hair, but thats perfectly normal. You wont be able to notice it once you're done. Here's some tips: http://www.mlppreservationproject.com/hair.html

And here's my Perfume Puffs:

I've flat ironed them before - same as others leave lots of conditioner in hair and small section at a time. It helps to de-poof them a bit and makes their hair nice and silky.

I've very recently fixed up a Lavender Lace who's hair was a bit knotty. All I did was shampoo, soak in conditioner, rinse, dry and then very slowly brushed it out, starting at the bottom and working towards the roots. Some hair loss but not much and she looks so pretty now. Good luck with Red Roses! :)

Ooh yah! Look forward to pics - I lurve the perfume puffs!!! Partypony - I think she'll fix up fine  :)  My Sweet Lily was worse than that when I got her. It takes time with all the brushing, but it's so worth it!

Nahhhhhh it's like regular pony hair.  Brush with a light touch at first, like you're pulling sweater fuzzies, and then move deeper in.  :)  It's just a different hand movement, you'll get the rhythm once you start brushing.

I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaated the PPs as a set until last year - so that's 24 years.  Then I acquired two, and now it's a hunt.  :D  As a child, I was allergic to them so I recall seeing them MIB on the shelves but not being able to buy them because they would make me sick.  So I got Dance n' Prance ponies instead.  :D  They certainly don't bother me now, but that's because they so rarely ever have their perfume about them.

But I LOVE their hair!  EEEEEEEEEEEEEE!  Okay, sorry.  :)  Reminds me a LOT of American Girl Addy's hair, really.  :)

Gorgeous pics!

I agree with Eldarwen you can treat it as normal pony hair. My only advise would be make sure you tease it back to poofiness as it dries - and that can involve a little back combing :P
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

Red Roses looks nice otherwise, I bet she will look fantastic soon. I need to do something with my accidental collection of them too...

I never wet or use heat on my perfume puffs. Just a comb. Here's how they look in the end:
