Baby Posey: Restore? (added pic :) )

So... I recently got one of my all time most wanted nirvanas through the arena: Baby Posey! I can't stop looking at her, she's so dang precious! But she does have some flaws and I'm trying to decide what I should do with them. I know it ultimately comes down to the pony's mommy, but I'd like to hear your opinion:

Tail rust: VERY VERY slight. You have to look to see it and I'd have to take her head off to fix it, and since it's still sealed on fairly well, I don't want to do that.
Forelock trim: Again, I'd have to take her head off, but I'm more willing to do so for the sake of fixing those couple locks. She's also missing a few plugs at the base of her neck but those don't bug me as much.
Eye rubs: Really don't bother me; they're not that bad.
Symbol rub: This is the big one. One side's symbols are near perfect, but the other one has three of her tulips rubbed, pretty badly. I don't know if I dare try to touch them up when displaying one side makes her look fine.
Pokes: She has a lot of little pinprick pokes over her body. I'm really not sure what I'd do about these and they don't bother me much.

Despite all this, she's a really precious little pony. I'm just curious: what would you do? Right now out of all these things I'm most interested in redoing her clipped forelock, especially since I might be able to do so without taking her head off.

I would fix the tail rust and hair but I don't personally worry much about paint rubs especially if one side is ok.  She sounds adorable!  I really want a pic.

Hmm, I think everyone has different views on this, but for me I would not touch up either her eyes nor her symbols (even though they are really badly rubbed).

I would however open her up for tail- rust (not for missing hair plugs) and the only reason for that is that her washer is probably rusty and that rust will not get any better as the years go by for sure. I would change her washer, and wash her inside to make sure she hadn't got any mold inside her. If the washer has started to rust she might have been stored in a humid environment and she might have mold inside her body (that you can easily check holding her up against a lamp or something though). So I would give her a nice, good clean inside-out!

All the other things wouldn't bother me at all

I'd carefully open her up (if you can get through the glue) and fix the tail rust and the hair. Everything else, I'd leave alone and display her from the other side. =)

Yep, she's my first Argie!

I think I will carefully open her up and make sure she's free of rust and gunk. Then she can be displayed in confidence with her mommies.

She is adorable Congrats on adding her to your collection. The eye condition is pretty common for these Argie babies so I would not worry too much about that. Personally I see no harm in leaving her as she is - although for the majority of the time I tend to err on the side of as little as possible with nirvanas. But in this case I think I would get rid of the tail rust. Perhaps if it annoys you you could also fix up the forelock with some donor hair.

Out of all if her issues, she is still absolutely fabulous! I would take care of the tail rust. She is sooo c u t e !!!

Congrats! Argie Baby Posey is SO CUTE!! I think I agree with most of the people here and would fix the tail rust. I wouldn't mess with the paint personally, if you're considering resale value, I'd think that might hurt in a nirvana. I would be tempted to fix the hair plug too maybe (if I was good at that kind of thing!).

I do agree that as little as possible should be done to nirvana ponies (after all, you can always DO but it's much harder to UNDO) but since she's yours and if you're planning on keeping her for a long time then you should make her look as perfect as you can There are some really talented pony restorers here on the arena if you don't feel comfortable doing some of these things yourself!

Like many others have said, I'd just worry about fixing the tail rust issue. This will only get worse over time and could cause further damage and grossness inside. I don't think the little forelock trim would bother me that much, so I personally would probably leave it as is since she's an Argie.
