Never thought I would smell that again..
« on: June 02, 2013, 06:09:35 PM »
I'm working on my first pony deflock and as I removed her flocking I was amazed by a familiar smell. New pony smell! I was a bit in shock since I didn't expect that again short of deboxing a G1( which I could never do). Anyone else get a sniff of old pony smells while messing with your ponies?

Oh you guys are giving me ideas! I LOVE that smell and got a little sniff when unwrapping a NM Sprinkles the other day - even after years in storage - she smells like just off her card

All I can smell when I'm deflocking is acetone

Some of my ponies have a "sweet" smell to their plastic ^.^ I don't really remember what a new pony smells like because I was so little when I got them and we could rarely afford brand new ponies

My Munchy had some surface dirt and wasa bit grimy, but after I cleaned her off and gave her a blowdrying, she smells brand new. It's such a wonderful smell. My CF Cotton Candy has it, too.

I cant say I have ever noticed! Like Shenanigans, I tend to be a teeny tiny bit high on the acetone or paint stripper or sugarsoap I am using to notice any other more pleasant scents :P Never deflock in an unventilated location - my mum discovering me giggling at a semi deflocked so soft Lofty is something she still brings up to embarrass me :P
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

My whole pony room smells that way- I've started closing the door to keep the cat from knocking things down, and now whenever I open it, the fantastic smell of new pony hits me and makes me smile, no matter how not-happy I might have been.

One day at work I opened something plastic and it smelled like new pony- I seriously couldn't stop sniffing it. It was amazing.
Thanks so much to Calico_Star for her beautiful work on my Avatar!

Love the smell of new ponies!  It sometimes wafts off my display shelf, and big-time when I open my pony boxes.  I think my ponies encourage each other to smell all pretty and new-ponyish. :P

The other smell I love is the occasional hint of pony puffy sticker.  That vanilla-baby-powdery kind of smell is :lovey: and I was fortunate enough to get a Moondancer that had that smell through and through. :faint: <-- that's a happy fainting smiley right there

I've heard that a product called Dreft (we don't have it here; I've only read about it) smells just like new ponies... anypony know for sures?

Wishlist - I'm back on (semi-) active buying again... can't buy everything on my wish list all at once (yay, back-to-school and tuition fees), but I am still looking to plump up my collection a bit more: http://mlparena.com/index.php/topic,380638.0.html
