Show me your "Design a Pony"s, please?

Hi all,

My sister bought me a design a pony Fluttershy a while back and I've only just decided that I want to make a craft project out of her . I originally wanted to just paint her over and maker her "show accurate" but now I kinda want to go all out with glitter and other fun things.

So...please inspire me with any and all decorated design a ponies! Any tips on the materials used (e.g. type of paint etc) would be most helpful and appreciated.

Hi! I would post pictures but I don't have the time tonight, maybe tomorrow,but I have plenty of tips!   Ultra fine tip sharpies are the best! I bought  a pack for 3 or 4 dollars that worked wonders. But also get the same colors in a bigger size for bigger areas. The Ultra fine is for around the edges. Use tape to protect the body of the pony while you sharpie, the tape saved me! If it does get on the pony, a little bit of rubbing alchol on a q-tip works to rub it off right after it happens. The stickers are not the best, so make sure you press down really hard, or even glue them on if you use them. Glitter glue is also amazing to use~! Fluttershy has is the best to doodle on, she has a texture to her that makes the sharpie stay and not rub off. Rainbow Dash on the other hand made my hand rainbow from her sharpie rubbing off, so be careful if you do rainbow dash. Also do not use the markers it comes with, they are not the best at all, and they will rub off and splotch very easily. I hope this helped!

I dont suggest gloss acrylic paints for a base coat- I used a green one with my rainbow dash and it stained the plastic pretty bad,  it can be hard to fix even with acetone! I just used regular 57¢ acrylic paints and a finishing gloss to protect the paint job. Glitter would be fun! =D They have sparkle paints at Walmart you can use to use in the hair or eyes and colored glitter glue would be nice for those black color-in designs! For Luna's eyes I thought about taking those small crystal gem stickies and putting them on the gem-shaped light refracted parts in her eyes! Those tiny sticky gems would be pretty on fluttershy's butterfly's bubble trail designs on her legs!

I have all 3 Design Ponies but I painted them show accurate to look like collectible items. My Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy have basic show-accurate paint jobs. My Luna however is unique, her moons and star glows in the dark! =D

thanks! oh and another tip...if you want to leave any of their white mane/tails white and they get dirty like my luna was from the store...use a magic eraser...

I like how they look when they are all painted over. I wish they hadn't put pre-designs on the "Design your own pony". It kind of took the "do it yourself" idea away.

repainted with acrylics and sealed with dullcote. because you knew someone was going to do it xD
