I think it goes back to my childhood I was obsessed with MLP, horses, unicorns, I just loved 'em! I have very fond memories of my mom taking me and my sister to the flea market and giving us a dollar to pick out a pony

when i ask for a pony as a little girl (saw someone say that in a movie)
i got one... in a mini size. mom said was so it would fit in my room.
they became my buddies. and we had grand adventures!

hats not to love?   they are cute, fun,  there's variety (lots of different types - uni, earth, peg, flutter, etc etc) there are loads of them to collect (30+ years and 4 generations of awesome! as well as nirvana!yay! ) , plus they were a really important part of my childhood

They weren't released until I was 12, and I saw them as the toy I always wanted as a child.
I'd finally found what I'd been looking for all those years.

Well for me I love the concept that they're animal dolls you can brush, I much prefer that over barbies. They come in exciting colors and each have a different symbol and cute unique name which makes them easy to identify and fun to collect!
