So many pretty ponies... PC help?
« on: May 25, 2013, 11:18:26 PM »
I really shouldn't have done it... but I'm up late at night looking at various nirvana ponies and I'm a little sad because I don't have any yet! (The closest thing to a nirvana pony I have is a UK Snowflake, but UK ponies don't really count, do they?  :P) So far, I've saved 21 pictures because I'm greedy and it's hard for me to pick favorites.

At this point I really can't afford them, especially since I'm really thinking of grad school and I don't want to look back 20 years from now and regret choosing ponies over higher education. Still, can I get some ballpark prices please, so that I can know how much to put away in the piggy bank? Again, this is a curiosity thread, not an "I'm seeking to buy right now" thread. But who knows, maybe one of these will end up being cheap. It's not likely though since I'm pretty sure I've picked a lot of expensive ones, but I can't help it, I really love them!

Links to mylittlewiki since I know there are a lot of variations.

Argentina:
Flutterbye (Again, relcelestia, this is perhaps one of the most beautiful ponies I've ever seen. Love her! She is my favorite nirvana.)
Medley
Felicidades
Moondancer
Moondancer
Moondancer

Columbia:
Bowtie

Germany:
Blubberchen
Regentropfen

Greece:
Moondancer
Ladybird/Paschalitsa

Italy:
Blossom

Macau:
Blossomscotch

Mexico:

Medley

Netherlands:
Shelly
Star

Peru:
Bowtie

South Africa (yeah right, but I can dream, right?):
Moondancer
Seashell

Venezuela:
Cotton Candy
Also, generally speaking, how much do the squeaky butts tend to go for? They are so goofy that I can't help but love them.

Thanks if you made it this far... I'll even give you a cake! :tort:

But really, I do appreciate the help.

Whoop whoop, cool! Thanks for the info!

It's good to know that at least three of them aren't worth a gazillion dollars. :frolic:

If you guys don't mind a really noobish question, why is it that the Mexicans seem to be so darned cheap?

i got all my mexican CPs off ebay.com and they didnt go very high. i paid from 7$ to 20$ for each of them (in "needs TLC" condition). i also got mexi blossom in tootsie pose for rather cheap, i think it depends on who is looking and who is selling. i got them from a mexican non collector, it looked like he digged them out of a very dirty cellar. ^^ but they turned out very good!

if you buy them from a collector who put lots of work in them to fix them or who already has a mint one you will probably pay more  :satisfied:

Thank you, pinkkittywinks! :lovey: To be perfectly honest, these prices are not quite as high as I thought they would be.

You have picked some expensive ones there! ;)

Blubberchen you should be able to get for $40-60 (without accessories)
Greek Moondancer recently went for something like ~$300, but you may be able to get her for $200
Greek Ladybird has been down, but if you were saving, I would aim to save about $600 or so for her, just in case
Italy Magenta Blossom - $150-180
Macau Blosscotch - $40-60
Mexico ponies do vary a lot depending on condition! If you get them direct from Mexico, they can be fairly reasonable though
Dutch Shell and Star - $40-60
Peru Bowtie/Ribbon - is a very popular, so can vary. $100-150 sounds reasonable, but it's hard to tell
South African ponies - you *might* be able to get hold of one for $600, but more frequently they go nearer $1000
Vennie prices are in flux at the moment, so it's hard to say unless you're buying one now. The squeaky butt ponies vary a lot depending on which ones!
