Everytime I try to visit someone else's town not one has their gates open these days.

If you see me online playing the game, come stop by and say hi. Chances are I'll have my gates open. I want visitors!!! LOL

BTW, when can you get the sling shot in the game? I am trying to collect all the balloon furniture. I know the trick where if one blows by the edge of the cliff by the ocean you can use your net to pop it.

I feel like I am not progressing as fast and I should. After over a week, you'd think Timmy and Tommy's store would expand.

Also, anyone know if this game has a catalogue you can order from like the others? I cannot find it.

You get the slingshot when Nookling upgrades (at least 10 days since starting the game, plus either spend 12k bells or buy 15 items at the store), and the store should be selling it. That is also when you get access to the catalog. 
What balloon items you need? I know I have like..three of the clocks and maybe the floor? I'm currently on the island, but I can check in a second.

My biggest peeve in New Leaf other than villagers moving in on random spots, is how they make you wait "tomorrow" or a long time for everything.

I'll be up at 12:30am central time (hehe, that is my time zone!) - i am a night hag, and I normally don't go to bed until around 4 or 5 am. xD I'll be playing all night (at be within reach of my 3ds), so no worries. :3  i'm even playing it now. xD

Weekdays stink for me. I get home and then have so much to do I can barely play ~ gyah~ I can't wait for the weekend. I also can't wait to get the shoe shop. O.o; I got rid of my shoes, and have been running around in socks.

@ Dazzle: You're welcome! I don't collect the balloon set items (other than that too cute dog-shaped balloon lamp), but I know others do so I keep them just in case someone wants it.
