Ever After High Discussion Thread!

I think there seems to be a big divide between real characters and background characters detail wise.  They are so nondescript I can't even begin to guess who they'd be.

I think for now we'll be seeing a lot of Apple White, Raven Queen, Briar Beauty, Madeline Hatter, Prince Daring, and Prince Dexter as the main characters. 

I think Ashlynn Ella, Cedar Wood, Blondie Locks, Cerise Hood, and Hunter Huntsman will be more supporting characters. 

Eventually I'm sure we'll see Kitty Cheshire, the Queen of Heart's daughter (Lizzie Hearts?), Bo Peep's daughter, and the Frog Prince's son (Hopper Croakington II?).  They seem to me to be the only other characters with any real detail.

Of course, this is all speculation, and I can easily see being wrong.

BTW, has anyone seen any Mattel trademarks that could be Bo Peep's daughter's name?

I think Maddy's dormouse is so cute! I hope they make pets, especially for Blondielocks and Bo Jr. Peep. Oh, and of course they have to make Raven's raven!

When the artwork first showed what the girls look liked, I thought they reminded me of Lady Lovely Locks.   Seeing those crappy pictures of the dolls, with their round faces, only further cemented that. 

Even if those are their actual heads, and they end up all being the same, I like them.

I still haven't made up my mind about the dolls.
I see myself watching the webisodes of course. The quality is pretty good. Heck, why are MH Webisodes not that amaizingly good?
But about the dolls, well, the reason I fell in love with monster high were the monsters and the details. There are details here, but no monsters.

Aside from that, what I really wanted to point out is that, how can Daring Charming be Prince Charming son and he and Apple are a couple. If he's prince Charming son and she is Snow White Daughter, doesn't that makes them.. brother and sister?
Unless Apple's charming is son of Cinderella & Charming, and Show & Charming's son, could be Dexter, or so on. It's weird anyway..


I like Dexter though he's just a Jackson in disguise.. or maybe one more of his personalities, and he changes into Dexter whenever he hears the words "happily ever after".

I am prepared to answer this question a thousand times. Many fairy tale princes aren't named. Snow White's prince is just "The Prince" while Cinderella's is more known as "Prince Charming," but really, Daring and Dexter can be any prince's son.

Dexter is really obviously the Beast from Beauty and the Beast, he exhibits the same personality as the MH counter part Jekyl, and his Hyde will be his Beast form. Also he wears the same outfit as Prince Adam in Beauty and the Beast. Now I need Belle, because favorite Princess ever.

This about dexter! I SO hope you are right! I knew there was a reason I kind of liked him. Lol But then again I like Jackson to so maybe that's why.

I'm a bit weirded out by all the people here saying that they expected more from the dolls.
To me they look just like the webisode models. Is there something wrong with my eyes?

I expected them to be all same-face because that's how they are shown in the cartoon.
What I didn't expect, though, were painted on eyes. I legit hoped they would have inset eyes or at least eye lashes ^^#
Well, maybe they will be cheaper than MH. Like, MH budget doll price. I'd be very okay with that!

Also we should probably keep in mind that those photos are really blurry and shot from an inconvinient angle.
Maybe the dolls will look better once we can see better pics of them

PS: Oh boy, no matter where I look, people are comparing this product to Disney.
Newsflash, Disney didn't invent the tales those characters are based on! The characters don't even look like the Disney counterparts (except for Ashlynn having dark blonde hair)

PPS: Is it just me or are we supposed to root for the rebels? I don't see anyone identifying with Apple so far. Hehe!

Those are screenshots from the "Legacy Day" part of the webisodes, so yes, they're the main/supporting characters. Blondie, Ashlynn, Frog Prince (Hopper?), Briar, Daring, Maddie, Cerise.

So, is it just me or does anyone else DESPERATELY want to be head over heels for these dolls but just can't quite get there yet?

For me, I LOVE the artwork and the music. I love some of the characters designs. And I really like the whole storyline behind everything with the whole "choose your destiny thing." I think its interesting.

I'm definitely pro rebels as I've always been a very strong believer in being yourself and doing what makes you happy. And plus I've just never been a girly girl. I think the royals are very much the "pretty popular girl" type. And I've just never been into that. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that, it's just not for me. I can definitely see most of the royals getting on my nerves, but as long as I have characters like raven and all the wonderland characters I think I'll be ok.

I also agree about wanting to have more diversity as far as fantasy characters go. I'll be honest I was really hoping for a unicorn or maybe a fairy or two. Or at least having kitty be an actual cat. At the very VERY least couldn't they at least given her a cat ear headband instead of that ridiculous Mickey Mouse ears-like hat? And given her more vibrant colors? Can you tell that really bothers me? 

As far as the fairy tale correctness or whatever goes, I don't know anything about the originals and to be honest I don't really care. At least not when it comes to a doll line. I'm not trying to be rude, in normal regular life I think I'd find it interesting. But when it comes to a doll line does it really matter? It's a freaking toy for children. They're not going to care where the dolls came from. And again, I'm really not trying to ruffle any feathers, but why oh why does everything have to be about race? We are ALL minorities in some way. Not one race has it better than the other. Get over it. But hey that's just my opinion. 

And this is just a thought I had, but what if the Grimm brother locked in the basement escapes, and lets everyone know they can choose their own destiny without "ceasing to exist" and everyone has their "happily ever after"  like what if headmaster Grimm wants everyone to follow in their parents footsteps and he knows his brother might convince them otherwise so he locked him up beneath the school?

I guess my point is there has to be a reason he's down there. Maybe like the classic sibling rivalry thing? Like the locked up brother is supposed to be the real headmaster and the other one wants all the power or something?

Cosmic High sounds awesome.  I could do with some MH-esque aliens.  That's a line I can get behind!

I'd love me some aliens, but only if they'd go completely crazy with it! Not just pretty girls with huge, black almond eyes, but real creatures. That would be cool!
