eBay mix up - overseas transaction - big mess...
« on: May 20, 2013, 09:55:32 AM »
Hey all!

So, I have found myself in a bit of a... pickle here.

A friend of mine who lives overseas and I, well we like exchange "buying things" from within our own countries for each other - so, she'll find something she wants where a seller doesn't want to ship internationally, or tries to charge an arm and a leg for it, and she'll alert me, I'll buy it for her - and her and I do "trades" or "swaps" like this. I have no problem with it, she doesn't either.

However, here's my problem. I'm stupid about G3 ponies. I have... a fraction of what's been released out there.. so I'm not a guru like I'd consider myself to be with G1 ponies. She sent me a link, I did the BIN. Paid the seller, got the pony.
It was MIB Valentines Pinkie Pie. Looked good to me, box wasn't cracked or open, everything was nice.

So, stupid me, I left positive feedback, and sent the pony on to my friend.

Well, today my friend got her box and she messages me and tells me that the seller actually sent the 2008 Pinkie whereas the auction was showing the 2009 Pinkie. ARG. I really had no idea...

So I've just now messaged the seller but...

Any advice on what course of action I should take here? I mean, luckily my friend is going to be sending ME a package soon from overseas, and I'm sure she could put it back but I'm not sure the seller will be willing to wait that long and... like I said I left feedback like an IDIOT...  >_<
I just want my friend to get what she paid for... blarg. This is my fault!

Sorry this happened, however forwarding an item to a third party voids the return process. I don't think there is anything you can do.

Yeah I know "technically" the seller doesn't have to do anything, which is fine, it's my problem. But, I figured there's no harm in asking the seller. If I got a message like that as a seller I'd probably allow the whole "return" thing to happen personally... it'd be a bit of a hassle but I'm the type of person who'd rather have someone HAPPY on the other end than just have money in my pocket. I know not all people are like that...

Though my friend did say, "You should demand a refund!" - which, of course I did NOT do, because there's no ground to stand on there...

If nothing else, and someone reads this who wants to sell a MIB 2009 Valentines Pinkie, LOL - you know who to talk to.

I figure I'll end up just biting it and trying to buy my friend a new one out of my own pocket...
