Italian Cotton Candy without symbols - prototype?
« on: May 19, 2013, 01:48:44 PM »
Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone has ever heard of or seen a pony like this: it's italian Cotton Candy but without symbols. Also her hair is a lighter pink than any other (italian) CC I've seen.

She's very dirty so at first I thought she was just faded, but there is absolutely no trace of symbols ever having been there. So would that make her a prototype?

Thanks in advance for any input.

I would guess her symbols have just been completely worn off.

My guess would be they've worn off or been removed also. There are a few differences in the shades of Cotton Candy.

Protoypes are pre-production or test runs of ponies. Even if she had never had symbols, chances are it would be factory error rather than a prototype.

i too would also say the symbols have either worn off or been removed :) there is always the chance she is a factory error in that they forgot to give her symbols.

Thanks for the input.

So no prototype then, that's fine. But there is something odd about her, the colour and feel of her hair especially... I've seen lots of italians and there's something different about this one.

About the rubbed off symbols: I tried this myself once (my one and only attempt at customizing) but no matter what I used you could still see where the symbols had been. Has anyone ever removed symbols that were completely invisible afterwards, like they were never there?

I'll give her a thourough clean soon, maybe that will reveal something more. I'm still curious...

Well she's very light in color, so I am guessing she's been sunfaded.

her pale body colour makes me think of the AB eye palamino version.

however your pony looks to have un-faded hair :)

using pure acetone you can remove a pony's symbol with out leaving a trace ;)

here are some more cotton candy's in the italy gallery

the lady with the darker pink body and white hair is a real oddity, her body colour and hair fit no version of any other italian pony found ;)

I have been able to remove some symbols without leaving a trace in the past. It really depends on the plastic in my experience.

I had one (from Macau I think?) like this but upon very close inspection I found a teeny tiny spot of white. I think LadyG's right, with the right plastic and the right color paint, it's possible to remove symbols cleanly, I'd think CC would be a good candidate since she's got lighter symbols. Her hair color is lovely pink, so I'd also guess she's not faded so if she's missing symbols I'd think someone removed them, I'd doubt regular play would rub them off cleanly. If only these ponies came with notes inside telling us what had been done or not done to them...
