Never thought it would happen to me...

These last couple years have been a whirlwind, and these last 2 months have been a blur......mainly because this arrived.....

Seriously, I never thought I'd have children, mainly because my health problems (PCOS, etc.) were so bad, the doctors didn't hold out much hope.

Not to mention, I never thought I'd get married......because I'm really not attracted to guys (indeed, I've generally been attracted to women), and that's not compatible with my moral outlook. 

But, it only takes 1 guy.........so, last June, I was happily surprised to find myself in this situation......(I may have been about 30 before finding myself attracted to a guy, but so what??)

And then, primarily as a result of an ovarian wedge resection surgery I had in 2011, I found myself pregnant a month later.   

Sure, I had to deal with all sorts of complications......and ended up getting a c-section......but that turned out well, because she was born at 10 lbs, 5 oz.   

And now I'm celebrating Mother's Day on the receiving end......which still seems totally surreal.

At least it's a girl - now I can shower her with pony stuff, lol.   

We named her Shyanna Kateri

(and yes, we're so exhausted we can barely function......can all you veteran parents out there tell me when it gets better??).

Shyanna Kateri, that is such a pretty name! She is so pretty!! Congrats! <3  Good luck with her and even if it's hard work, there is alot of reward in the end!   From experience with my siblings since I am the oldest of 4, things get better once they start sleeping though most of the night if not all the night, so in about 2-5 months,thing will get easier on the sleeping front. It just depends on the baby and what they want of course is when they start sleeping,but around 3 in general.Again, congrats, she is adorable!

Congrats!  I think every stage has its wonderful parts and the not so great parts.  From my experience with three kids they were sleeping through the night at about 6 months.  As for when you get to be you again.  I'd say somewhere between three and four. Enjoy it, motherhood is absolutely amazing!

WOW!!! That sure is a lot that has happened in your life. I found feel it all when I was reading it. Gosh I would of been tired going threw all of that also.

And yes it does get better and does slow done when you start to get use to things. Babies do take a lot of your time. I know cause I had one. She is now 9 and I do have more free time. When kindergarten comes along you are going to miss you little one...... 

Oh that is going to sound bad of me.........when my daughter was that age. I put up horse posters and my ponies all around her!! LOL..... And guess what!!! She LOVES HORSES AND PONIES   It worked for me and I bet it will work for you
