Help With An Item? Cup Topper? - Mystery Solved??

Hey,
   I got this for my B-day and at first I though snowglobe, but realized what I though was a plug was not removable, and it has 4 small holes above it and one slanted in the plastic top. The ponies are also on a axle and spin. So now I am thinking maybe it was one of those cups with molded straw and as you drank the suction caused the ponies to spin?

  Anyone have one or pictures of one? Or any other ideas as to what it could be? The is no marking at all on it.

I have never seen it before but i was thinking maybe it had a handle of some sort that kids could make them spin? I can't quite tell from the pic bit the hole looks a little on the small side for a straw but it could just be the way it was photographed It sure is neat though and I am interested to find out what it is now

Ha ha, no I am thinking the straw was attached/molded to the side of the cup, and the topper sat on top of the cup, when you suck through the straw it creates a downward suction in the cup causing the ponies to spin or something like that. I remember other characters, I think there was Mikey one, don't remember a pony one. But maybe a fast food promotion?

Or like you said maybe it had base maybe that some how caused it to spin, has something to do with the black seal around where the holes are.

Reanna-mator I know what you mean, I find the oddest things, this was in some stuff my mom bought me, and only 3" in diameter.

The rubber bit on the bottom makes it seem more like a tabletop item to me. It reminds me of a plunger carousel, but I could be wrong. How big is it, anyway? It looks pretty small.

It is only 3 inches in diameter, so pretty small, it is sealed around the edge and dome. Will neat to see some day what the other piece or pieces are for it!

OO OO OO I solved the mystery, it dawned on me (after my morning coffee) that I had some misc cups, sure enough one fits, I think it might have come with its own straw though, a bit bigger one works better.  Here are a couple pics and a video with my phone LOL Cup is dated 1984, the topper is pink so maybe there are a couple out there??

I have that topper too.  It actually works well as a spinning top on a very flat surface.  That's what I thought it was!

Oh I have one of those cups somewhere but the base is pink - I think there were 2 or 3 different tumblers in total.
