What's with the freaky artwork for G4 ponies?

I'll agree with the comment others have made. There are so many fans of FIM that it was bound to happen. I'm sure even with the old ponies there was probably fans out there making disturbing pictures, but they didn't have the internet at the time to make it seen by all. I feel a lot of it has to do with now having the internet. I think the disturbing images go along with anything that is popular. I just ignore it.

nearly every show has the dark side to it. I've come across some really bad things that can no bee unseen. Everything from telletubbies to care bears. Like everyone has stated rule 34 can ruin childhoods lol.

I'll just do my best to ignore it. I'm not a prude myself I just don't see ponies in that light and don't like to. To get the pictures on ebay by just typing in my little pony was a bit of a

I was going to say 'MEN' in a disparaging tone, but then I noticed someone brought up Transformers and realized that it was the same situation, sort of, except all the porn I've seen of Transformers has been by women. So I will have to amend to saying ADULTS in a disparaging tone.

It makes me seriously uncomfortable, though, if only because of the Id on display in them.

There's a lot of [edit ~ hathorcat] on the internet, but the majority of it is on image sites where it's not immediately accessible. Unfortunately some people are shameless and put it right out in the open for anyone to see. Those are the minority.

There's also photos of people doing things to plushies... I don't care about what they are doing TO the plushies, but the fact that they feel the need to SHARE that is disgusting.

I try not to think about that. x.x  I've warned my brother and his girlfriend about the icky pony stuff that can potentially pop up on Google Images (their kids LOVE ponies) on several occasions.

Personally, I don't like it, My Little Pony is supposed to be aimed at children, I feel wrong looking at sexualized images of characters designed for a kids show/toy.  One of the main reasons I enjoy the world of My Little Pony is its innocence, the ponies don't have big bust ups, get violent or take drugs.  They don't really have sex (on screen) I mean obviously they do reproduce and have babies, but some of the stuff I have seen and read is just not part of pony life.  Its different from most other adult TV shows in that respect which is why I love it 

I suppose you just have to avoid certain terms and words when looking for artwork online. Or stick to the artists who specialize in the more fluffy, cute artworks and stories.

Perhaps some of the artists here on the Arena could help??

Yep, you'll find it in every fandom. I'm not into it, but if that's what you're into, I won't judge. ^_^ You'll find that many members of the brony community tend to bash the [edit ~ hathorcat] out of fear that their fandom will be generalized into a bunch of "perverts." I think fighting amongst the fandom over something so trivial is sad.

Yeah... FIM has attracted some sick and disgusting people. I tend to just glaze over it whenever I see things like that. I get sad though as this was pretty much the one hobby I had which didn't have anything like that associated with it.

Sorry, but I'm offended by calling people who are into a sort of artwork "sick and disgusting." It's not my thing but I have many dear friends who I've known for a long time who do like things of that sort, and I don't appreciate having remarks like that directed toward them in such a generalizing manner.

On this forum we try to be accepting of other peoples' tastes. Let's not exclude certain people from that. You never know whose feelings you might be hurting.

Yeah, it's definitely not a new thing (there's plenty of sexualized stuff for the older gens, even on the internet); it's just that the part of the fandom that likes that kind of thing is pretty big, and... you know, bronies tend to be kind of loud about their participation. I will say there seems to be more of it than for other fandoms I've seen, though that could be just my perception (it seems easier to stumble on the FiM stuff, which is totally a valid objection to have  IMO, "adult" stuff should be at least hidden well enough that you have to be looking for it to find it).

I dunno, maybe I'm just so internet-jaded that I find it hard to get worked up over what kind of art people like (..."like") anymore.

I just feel like its art and you can't censor art if it makes one person happy that's great I don't feel like its the entire fandom. In the beginning of bronies they too were against this kind of art, but they have come to except it. Because love and tolerance is their motto and that includes cloppers.

Ah. *blush* Maybe I just have better luck with that particular feature. I was able to just look up "Fluttershy" and scroll down to where you have to press a button to show more results and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. And I did find this adorable wallpaper:

Finding something gross isn't the same as censoring it, nor is expecting some sites like DA to actually stick to their no porn policy.

It's something that is to be expected when it comes to the Internet (hence, Rule 34). Like someone else mentioned, I've been desensitized to porn/adult artwork from being on the internet all of these years as well, so it doesn't "bother" me too much as a whole, especially compared to other bad (and to an extent, worse) things that I unfortunately "can't un-see". ;_;

If possible, just try to be careful what you search for [such as certain words], turn on Safe Search (although that doesn't always work), and avoid certain areas of the internet. That's really the best you can do, unless you "quit the internet".
