Help IDing fakies and Mcdonalds Ponies?
« on: May 04, 2013, 08:51:19 AM »
Sorry if this isn't allowed, but I'd really like to get an ID on these ponies from my childhood. I remember they came with a magazine, around 1995-1998ish (according to the numbers on the ponies' bellies). The magazine may have been UK/EU exclusive. They're made of a very soft plastic. I believe the white pony with the silver hooves is called Wispy, and the orange-speckled one is called Freckle (both could be wrong).
I believe the bottom two and the silver/white unicorn are McDonalds ponies.

I'm kinda sad I gave them haircuts :( Does anyone know how I could possibly salvage the tails or should I look at learning how to rehair them?

I appreciate any help, and can get better photos if anyone wants them :)
Idly searching for: loose, good condition G4 Blossomforth, Starbeam Twinkle, Plumsweet. TTM Celestia doll's wings Within UK or EU only, please.
Will also take in Pretty Pony Club (UK magazine) fakies.

I LOVE the McD Star Swirl! She's so pretty!

Sorry I don't know much about the other ponies, but I suggest giving them a really good conditioning to see if that helps tame their hair a bit before deciding on rehairing or not.

Thanks! Can I use regular conditioner or does it need to be baby/kiddie conditioner? Star Swirl also has some paint transfers on her (they were all in a huge tub of my childhood toys and have been there for about five years >< ), is there a way to clean her without submerging her? She has a screw on her side so I'm a bit worried about her rusting.

I've never rehaired before but I'd totally learn to be able to restore these <3

I don't know anything about the realistic little horses, but the two at the bottom of the first pic are McDonalds ponies too - one is a G2 Sweetberry (or something like that...) and the other is a Euro McDonalds G3 release... (I love those little G3 ones!)

I used to have those little fakies, they came with a magazine called 'Pretty pony club'. I do belive the magazine was a UK exclusive, but I can't be sure. Some one on Ebay UK is selling some of the magazines at the mo'. Hope this helps :)

The yellow one is Spring Treat.  She was released at McDonalds in 2004 (Netherlands) and in 2005 (UK).

Yes the top most ponies are probably from the Pony Club magazines as mopthebunny says...here are a couple of really old pictures of them. The magazines still exists today in a much more up to date form and its gone through variations in carnations - it doesnt tend to come with ponies any more.

There was another magazine which came with little ponies as well - Penny's Ponies or something like that - they were very similar to the Pony Club but they didnt have symbols and the ponies were more realistic in colour so I think perhaps you have cross section of both.

The image results I get for "Penny's ponies" don't look like the ones I have, though none of mine have symbols, either. The Pretty Pony Club magazine's art looks incredibly familiar. Gah, I wish I still had those magazines but I imagine they got thrown out years ago :(

I've never heard about the Pony Club before - both the magazine and the figure look really cute!

They might now be called Penny's ponies...I honestly dont remember exactly what the magazine was called! Hopefully someone else does.
