What I'm wondering is if it'll be like all MH-ish and "gothic"/dark like all those fairy tail movie reboots or all pink and sugar and rainbows-ish.

Man I'm almost sorry for thinking that. I know the orginal story too. I personal don't take the changes they made to heart. They were made with children in mind. Any who that's anther topic.

I get that about Mermaid. I'm just a hopeless H. C. Andersen fan.

And I'm bummed how influential the Disney versions are and you linking tea cups to BatB reminded me of it. For example, a Snow White costume gets hardly recognized anymore if it doesn't sport the iconic colors (yellow, red, royal blue).
That's why I hope the Ever After High versions won't look or act too similar to the Disney versions. Most of those Disney "princesses" have been done to death and need some sort of reboot IMHO

Y'know, I glare eeevery time someone says their opinion is humble. Mostly because if you need to state it, it can't possibly be. And I read too much Pratchett.

Aaanways, my first thought on the teapot is actually that it A) Looks more like a cauldron than tea, and paired with the raven just clicks in me as Sleeping Beauty.
Also, I think the mouse might be Cinderella, not Alice. After all, he's talking about ever afters, which Alice didn't have, and he's in the woods, leading up to a castle.

And I remain in skeptic corner on the line. Woo! Join me, I do have raspberry swirl cheesecake, home made...

I'm glad you pointed out your thoughts on the Raven/sleeping beauty connection, thats been driving me crazy for a few hours, but now i remember it!

I still want to know what the significance o that "372" is though!

I thought cindy too, but his ruffle collar just looked so Alice to me   either way I'm not In or Out until I see the final product.  It does however have my attention.

Well, 3+7+2= 12, maybe a Cinderella connection?

Or if we go with a phone, 3= DEF, 7= PQRS 2= ABC... Nothing really stands out there.

I did think of Sleeping Beauty when I saw the raven too, but is there really a raven in the original Sleeping Beauty? I know there's one in the Disney version, but I can't remember the original one. I need to brush up on my fairy tales, I guess.

I also hope they do a darker take on this fairy tale line, and that it won't be all rainbows and flowers and pastel colors.

The Disney version is already all rainbows and pastels, so they would have to do something a bit different at least to stand out.

I never said my opinion was humble. I said almost which means I'm not sorry for saying it. But this is the reason I don't post on the MH discussion much.

Nice try, but IMHO can also mean "in my honest opinion" and that's how I used it

It can't be licensing fees, Mattel owns MH. Is Nightmare's paint job that pricey ? Or is TRU that gouge-y ?
