Can someone explain to me why they go for such disparate amounts? Sale prices went from $64USD for a white Lickety-Split up to $305USD for a teal Lickety-Split.

I think the reason the lickety split went so high...we have not seen a Veny Lickety split show up in the latest Boxed Runs over the last year.

There was a group that ended on Sunday & this second group that ended tonight. The very first one that ended on Sunday sold for less than every other one. I'm guessing that part of what happened is that as people lost out on each auction, they started bidding higher & higher on the ones that ended later, driving up all of the prices. I know I was watching each one end, trying to put in last second bids & I lost out on every single one that I bid on, and many went way above what I was willing to pay.

As for the blue Lickety Split ending over $300, the last blue Lickety (finished pony with magenta hair) that was on eBay sold for over $1,000. It's a very sought after color, since there's also the ever popular Italian Blue Lickety, as well. I had expected her to go over $200, but I was a bit surprised that she went as high as she did.

I was watching most of them, as well. However, I could not bring myself to bid on them at those prices. They're interesting creatures though.

but we had not seen a Boxed one of her either.

Oh wow! I'd never heard of them before. They are so cute! I really like them. Especially the blue Lickety Split. Why oh why do I always have to be drawn to the expensive ponies....

confession... if i ever won or found one of these i would TOTALLY reahair them, with no shame 

theyre such cool colors but w/o hair... its just well, not something that gives me the pony joy i get from all my others....

I'm so glad I didn't see these while they were running! I would have been tempted to bid on the Tootsies and I really shouldn't right now. At least I have my red one already

I suspect kkv is right - as more people lost out, they started bidding the others up more. The Lickety Split is a bit of a surprise, but she is popular in that  colour. Plus they are pretty cool

ETA: I'm really liking a lot of these new colors too, I just hope haired versions show up sometime soon
