I own Masquerade now as a grown up collector but as a kid I never had her. I've always liked her colours but I'm not much into the North star pose.

The one TE that has a bit of a demonic tone imo is tic-tac-toe, those red jewel eyes...

I do like the TE ponies, I only have one other though (Galaxy) I love their twinkly eyes!! And Masquerade's eyes are such a bright vibrant green!

She is the only pony I ever remember being allowed to pick out in store - all my other ponies were birthday or Christmas gifts. I was 5 years old and my parents were moving so I was having to leave my school and go to a new one. As a reward for being a good girl, my mum walked me down to Woolworths and stood me in front of the pony wall...I got to pick whichever one I liked. I picked Masquerade.

I didnt know until I was a grown up - that my mum and dad could not really afford that pony at the time due to the costs of moving and other factors. But she was so proud of me for going to school on my last day and not crying too much about leaving my friends that she went without on a few things in order to buy me Masquerade. She is the only childhood pony who I truly truly wish I still had for sentimental reasons.
