Does the year on the bottom of a G4 count?

I was thinking. Kind of silly but.. If something say comes from 2009 G4, it won't be re-released again, will it?

I've not seen any of the older brushable G4's rereleased except for maybe Honeybuzz. What do you think? Do you think something from say.. 2-3 years ago will be re-released?

Keeping that point in mind, if they don't make new molds soon, your question about the hoof date will become even MORE valid!

Much as with other gens and other toys, the year is an indication of when the original mould was made - after all the main 6 original moulds would have been made 09/10 but we are still getting the same ponies in 2013!

That's interesting, because the new Baby Molasses' hoofprint reads 2011, even though we only saw her this year.

If I remember correctly, Applebloom and her share a pose.. so it's stamped whenever the mold for the pony is made.. Sooo Yes, whenever Appleblooms was (or whoever had that pose first... Baby Sweetiebelle maybee?)

Out of curiosity, do you perhaps know what are the black numbers under Molasses hooves? That would tell us her date of actual manufacture.
