Two of my non-pony friends are going and they have offered to pick it up for me if I give them money.just show up to the booth and buy one before they sell outIt's a little more complex than that I'm afraid. Let me see if I can find my friend's horror story from last year.....Found it!Quote I had no idea how popular that pony was. I usually show up at 10am when the doors are already opened and no lines to the exhibit hall. I got to the convention extra early just for you, 6:30am. So I waited in line for 30 minutes until they let us enter the building at 7:00am and I ran upstairs to the Sails Pavilion to get in the hasbro ticket line (the 2nd Line). I was told Friday that tickets were going to be passed out at 8am, I was maybe #200 in line, that line stretched outside of the sails pavilion and became an amusement park line. After an hour and a half (8:30am), I got the ticket to go down stairs to get in line at the Hasbro Booth. I know enough about Con to know every booth keep stock on a daily limit of figures that they sell. So I knew I had to find a way downstairs to get to the hasbro booth before the masses. And unfortunately the doors open at 9:30am and my ticket said "can't be used until 10am", I knew it could be sold out by then. But I was hoping for a miracle. I found a way to sneak past security using my pro badge, I made it down stairs through the back of the convention, which places me closer to the hasbro booth. (score) I made nice with some people that had handicap stickers, they were waiting to be let in early before the main crowd. They were let in at 9:25am, and so was I. Miracle. I ran to the Hasbro booth, and got in my 3rd line, I think I may have been #25, don't even know how those people even got there before me, but # 25 is better than 200. A guy walked up to me and asked if I was buying the Transformers Bruticas for $100. I said no, so he asked if I could buy him one. He seemed kind of shady like an exhibitor that was going back to his booth to sell it for $400, and he more than likely had bought his limit. But I said sure as he passed me the $100. Just as he did, a mad rush of people came out of no where getting in line for Hasbro, it wrapped around the booth, and they started a 2nd line away from the booth by the back wall. Insane. The line began to move and the Hasbro security guard asked me for my ticket, I showed it to him, and he said I can not go in until 10am, I said I had a panel I needed to be in at 10. He did not care. "Here take mine" I heard as the shady guy handed me his Friday ticket from the day before, which the guard then accepted. So I was allowed in. Another Miracle. As I said, I was maybe #25 in line, and when they reached the 4th person in front of me, they pulled down the Pony sign that said "In Stock." I could not believe it, to come so far and to be so close. And the lady said they were not just out of Pony's for the day, they were out of Pony's for the rest of the show. You should have heard the gasp, and shrieks of horror that came from people. I could only imagine the anger on the other 1000 people behind me in line when they found out. And worse of all, I dreaded having to tell you this bad news. It has always been a challenge getting you your ponies every year, but this year was by far the worse, but to to fail you, is what made it even harder. I am so sorry. :-( :'( If the Fair and SDCC do both have the same pony, my friend will be happy that he doesn't have to repeat this again this year. I felt bad that he went through all that for nothing.sailorstitch

Ok, I went back and read some of SweetTune's post about the Fair again. I couldn't remember exactly where I read it, but I knew it was on the Fair board. Somebody else over there asked if the Fair and SDCC were getting the same pony. SweetTune said that due to her contract with Hasbro she's not allowed to answer that right now. So it could go either way. This was in the massive 43+ page thread about the ticket sales. The way she worded a few things gave me hope that they might be different ponies. But that might just be wishful thinking.....sailorstitch
Quote from: PinkRosedust on April 05, 2013, 12:04:56 AMI personally think it would be really weird to have Wysteria be any part of it. I assume that they will probably have another pony the brony crowd will appreciate, and of course most bronies won't know who she is. And even if, by some chance, they were catering to us collectors...why Wysteria? While she did get several re-releases and I think she was the Crystal Princess or something (?) it still seems like a random choice for the SDCC exclusive. That said, I don't have any better predictions. LOL. I am assuming that they will do what they did last year and have the fair exclusive and sdcc exclusive be the same. And since it is the 30 anniversery, I am hoping the exclusive will reflect this. Both Wysteria and Pinkie Pie were among the first set of G3 ponies released. If they are going to release a set to celebrate the anniversery, I could certainly see Hasbro trying to please both collectors and Bronies by putting ponies in the set that would appeal to both. Here are my thoughts. Lets say that there are 6 playful size ponies in the set. If they include two g4 ponies it would undoubtedly be Pinkie and Rainbow Dash. Not only are those two very popular with bronies but they also were both in the first set of g3 characters ever released. Then say that they include two other characters from the first set of G3. We have already seen Wysteria. After Pinkie and RD, Wysteria is one of the most popular characters from that set. And who is another extremely popular pony from that set? Minty, of course! And then ideally the last two ponies would be from the very first MLP ever (Peachy, Bluebelle, Blossom, etc.) They would have to use Butterscotch and Snuzzle if they wanted to avoid having two ponies of the same color in the set.In this way, they could include two ponies from the 3 most popular generations of ponies, each of those ponies being from the first wave of ponies in her generation, 3 of them having been in the first wave of more than one gen ( Minty, Pinkie, and RD). It would be very appropriate in my opinion and be most likely to please the largest amount of people both collector and brony. By this I mean that bronies are still likely to buy it for the special edition of their two favorite ponies even if they don't know the other characters, and collectors are likely to buy it for the other ponies even if they don't want yet another Pinkie and RD. I am trying to think like Hasbro here. If it was especially popular then they could release non-glittery versions as a general release. Such as they are doing for last years fair/sdcc pony.Of course, this is all just my conjecture.

Does Hasbro release the Fair pony info before the fair? This will be my first year going and my issue is that I don't want to stand in a long line just to see I don't really want the exclusive. Knowing before hand would be awesome : )
They will be making a Loa pony!

I thought that the only reason they announced it last year was because it had already been widely leaked through Taoboa. I might be mistaken though.
Someone on the forum said she had a dream a while back that the exclusive turned out to be fakies! I had a dream a few months ago that the exclusive turned out to the a huge box of 50 squinkies, and not even mlp ones. We are all so anxious about the exclusive that's it's affecting our dreams!

I have asked repeatedly but the only answer I get is, "There is no answer right now". I suppose it's not necessary for me to know, as I'm not attending personally, but I do think it's a ridiculous lack of response for people who might be planning their trip around these facts. I don't agree that Hasbro thinks it's appropriate to hide this information from us.
