De-tinselled Nefera
« on: April 03, 2013, 04:29:06 AM »
I picked up Nefera yesterday because she's awesome.

I'm a bit meh on the tinsel in her hair though.

Does anybody have a de-tinselled Nefera (or just a Nefera with her hair down)?

Also, if I want to de-tinsel her what would be the best way to do so?

I detinseled her! It took FOREVER. I just used a set of tweezers and my fingers to pluck each strand out, but it was totally worth it! Mine still has some tinsel fluff that I haven't been able to pull out, but it doesn't bother me too much.

I sed to think I didn't mind the tinsel all too much, but now when I see these lovely pics I totally prefer Nefera without it! she looks very grown up and sophisticated.

I think just taking her hair down and styling it differently makes a huge difference. I wanted to de-tinsel mine, but since there isn't really a match for her teal color I decided against it, since I didn't want any bald spots left after the tinsel got pulled. So instead I rolled her hair up, let it sit for a few days, and got this!

From the ANTM Valentines/Candy theme, back in early February, and her hair is STILL in those ringlets! It's hardly fallen at all.

She has SO MUCH HAIR. Even taking all the tinsel out, she's got a really well rooted head. Wish I could say the most recent releases were like that!

I havenĀ“t de-tinselled my Nefera since she is still in her box but I did it in to a Cleo signature with a small and thin scissors and she was perfect, no bald spot or anything ugly. I think, with patience and care, Nefera will look awesome without tinsel, too.

You guys must have got good ones then, cuz mine has a GIANT bald spot right behind the row of plugs that make up her widows peak, and most of the surrounding plugs are tinsel. You can see in the picture how I had to make it look like her hair was brushed straight back from the headband. Shes one of my dolls that didn't get blessed with a thick head of hair, which is a shame because shes high on my list of faves. :(

Okay so I just spent the last like three hours detinselling Nefera and Cleo (yeah, I have a Cleo now) before giving them a good wash and hair brush.

I managed to get most of the tinsel out quite cleanly but Nefera was much harder than Cleo. Still, I think she looks pretty good.

Pictures will probably happen tomorrow when I have natural light.
