Shipping from China- when can I start worrying?
« on: March 28, 2013, 03:17:52 PM »
I've bought three things from China recently.

Ploomette on 3/7 arrived on 3/18
A bunch on ribbon on 3/17 arrived on 3/28

But a Lily Blossom, coming from the same place as Ploomette on 3/8 still isn't here. Tracking hasn't updated since 3/12, when she was processed.

The estimated delivery date for her is Tue. Mar. 26 - Thu. Apr. 11, so of course I'm not terribly surprised it's still in China. But with two other items coming in so fast, I'm getting nervous. Anyone have any ideas of what could be holding it up..?

I am going to guess customs might have something to do with it.  But it also could be that it was not scanned at some point.

I am sure it will be here before you know it.

My rule of thumb when buying from China is to give it about a month. Usually things I order from there arrive by or around the time a month has passed :)

Yeah, I would say the experience varies from location to location, but I'd give it a full month, too. I've had stuff come in in two-three weeks, I've had stuff come in after a month (and I'd forgotten I'd bought it!) So it's a sit and wait game. I'm sure the tracking stopped because it's stuck in customs.

I find that china post is really weirdly inconsistent. I ordered a batch of items (from different sellers) around the same time and they all took about a month to arrive. Then a few weeks later I ordered another batch of items (also different sellers) and they all arrived within a week.
