My BF and I share an ebay account, and we each have our own paypal accounts.  He has built up a lot of good feedback over the years and i have added to it with my (mostly pony) purchases.  So over the past couple of months, we have been merrily going about doing our thing buying off ebay, I have bought ponies and clothes, he has bought fishing/shooting stuff and all has been well......or so I thought........

Today I have been clearing up my emails and sorting through my paypal email folder and I found I had been paying for all his purchases.  Basically it looks like ebay has defaulted to using my paypal account, it just goes to pay and uses my paypal.  It used to give a choice, but now it makes it difficult to change!!

AND OMG I JUST REALISED - I PAID FOR MY OWN BIRTHDAY PRESENTS!!!!!!!!  He said he's gonna pay me back (about £80) so that's ok, but WOW, an eye opener for anyone else who shares their spouses ebay account!!

Yeah, I noticed this too. I have been paying for all of my husband's transactions as well. But I have more money in my account so I don't really mind. It usually just gets transferred to our bank account at the end of the month anyway if it's not used.

I think we probably need to be a bit more careful when we pay... I'd suggest to check your emails from Paypal or your Paypal statement to be sure.

I knew there was something not quite right...the times I went to the cash point and it was a bit less, not too much, a tenner here and there which wasn't too alarming, I just thought it was bad math on my part...

Anyway, I am getting taken out to dinner by the BF this weekend to say sorry!!! So its ended well

I am so glad my husband does not know how to use ebay, nor has any interest in it. My money is safe!

Yeah Hubby and I are the opposite way.. separate ebay accounts, shared paypal. We both overuse our watch lists, which is a problem for us!! So we keep them separate, and he pays me back when he buys things, which isn't very often. That way I don't see whathe buys, and he doesn't see how much I spend on ponies and his gifts... eek!

Hmm we use separate Ebay accounts and Paypals. It just makes thing easier for us, but honestly almost all our funds go into one account. I guess it wouldn't be a huge deal in the end.

Hmmmmm my husband and I also share but we run every purchase we make on Ebay by each other, especially if it's totalling more than $100 in one go.  Simply because it would be very sad if someone got caught short at the gas pump or some such because the other person HAD TO HAVE IT NOW while online shopping.

we share both, the ebay account is in my name but the paypal is in hubbys, but we also have a joint bank account and as im not employed at the moment he pays for everything anyway

(i bought my own birthday pressie last night to make sure i got what i wanted, he is going to take it away and wrap it up so i can't use it though)

Only I have a paypal and an eBay account out me and my OH, but equally we don't share a bank account either.

Oh my!    Mom and I share a paypal/ebay account.  Mainly because I do all the selling and buying, lol. Every now and then she'll pop on and buy a couple of things, but she always lets me know when she does.  We've had the ebay account for 14 years, so it just seemed silly for me to open another account and start all over with feedback and stuff.

I thought you had to sign in every time? My mom and I share an EBay account but have separate Paypal accounts. I always have to log in to my account to make purchases....

This is why Joe and I have separate eBay and PayPal accounts, because I kept seeing emails containing info on supposedly surprise presents lol!
