I had two prototypes and this was the result.

I do have a simpler version too, so her design doesn't send artists over the bend. Oops.
Maybe there are too many ideas backed up in my head.

Anyone else ever have a pony that goes a completely different direction than you expected? Custom, drawing, concept, anything really.

I love her design ^^, I don't think she needs a simpler one really.

I haven't had any new ideas for ages, I'm quite happy with the ponysonas I have already . Nothing unexpected happened when they came to be. I had some help with the designs from someone with more artistic talent than me.

I'm not talented enough to deal with drawing or customs. I can barely draw the body of a pony and I never get to details like cutie marks, eyes or coloring

But the one you just made is awesome, I loved the clouds, and her color scheme. I wish some like her was made officially, the design is creative but still have the My Little Pony feeling, imo ^^ Great pony ^^

Than you! I was trying to keep it somewhat hasbro-ish. I think she could be a cross between fizzy and pillow talk as far as her general design. That was the only way I could justify her in my mind. A greyscale version.

Maybe I can mock up some of the ponies in my mind and give them to people. That might help clear out my head

Seems like when you try to plan something, that's went it goes crazy

I can tell a bit more I guess. I used a pony generator to choose Sweet Lavenders colours and I was inspired by someone elses ponysona for the wings but designed them myself. I had help making the cutie mark on her though. Jade came to me in a flash of inspiration in the middle of the night. He is the incarnation of how I feel when I am in a forest a warm summers day when the sunlight is gleaming between the trees and falling upon the soft mossy ground and a small stream ^^. With that idea and the colours I felt were right, a artist here helped me design him and the cutie mark and she made him just right .  But I guess they didn't go in any unexpected directions after that.
