Which are the rarest G2 ponies, and how much are they worth?

Thanks! :)

There is a Spanish blue-haired Ivy and I think another varient Ivy. For awhile, I think only one was known to exist, but maybe a few more have popped up in recent years. Finding the second release winged unicorns (Golden Glow and Diamond Glow) with their wings is also pretty tough--took me years.

As to their price, it's tough to say. I would say any of those is way harder to find than Mimic and maybe even Rapunzel (alt. Ivys for sure), but the lower demand for G2s makes it hard to predict how much they'll cost. If no one else is looking for them, you might get them relatively cheap--if someone else is looking for them though--then you've got two people who both know they might not find another one for years, and it could go up to a couple hundred or more.

Both MO Twin Baby Ponies sets (Study and Play, Nosy and Click) are considered to be pretty rare. That and also the Ivy variants as Manimal already mentioned. Also, depending on which country you live in, some collectors consider European G2 releases to be rare - mostly because most of them weren't available anywhere outside of Europe, so finding them in those other places can be quite a challenge.

Some of the limited release playset ponies and later Euro ponies are HTF for US collectors. The Mansion pony and her baby, for example, had a small release.

G2's are a little difficult to give a fixed price on, their prices tend to fluctuate more than other gens depending on who is looking at a given time. Also, since I'm located in the U.S. my prices might be a little higher than you might be able to get in Europe since the ponies never had a release here. And it also depends on if you're buying or selling. But that all said, if you want estimates for specific ponies, list the ponies and I will give you a ballpark idea for loose, with accessories, and MOC.

Thanks. Do you know how much the playsets are worth?

It really is a pretty broad canvas to be honest.

As others have said you have "mainstream" rare - which are the ponies which were released in stores but which had a limited enough release or which are the most sought after. I agree the Mansion is right up there as one of the hardest G2 items to find, along with the sailboat. Also most of the ponies from 2003 could probably be called harder to find.

And then you have the "unique" rare - which are ponies which are either prototypes or have such a limited release they are hard to define.

Which playsets was it you were interested in a price in?

Right now for me is G2 Springly, because she is my grail and I cannot find her anywhere.

:yikes:

I would pay at least $50 for her, if someone had one to sell.

I agree with what everyone has said.  G2's are hard to put a price tag on in general because the demand isn't as high as other generations.
