Is it possible to curl Saran?

I have a doll whose hair I'd like to try and curl, but I've heard that saran hair doesn't hold curls well. Is there any way to curl it?

It can curl, just not as well as nylon does. You won't get those tight little ringlets, they'll be more loose. I recommend using boiling water over hot water for better results.

What type of hair does SS Lagoona have? I want to curl her hair because it's looked messy since I bought her, but I didn't know if it would curl like pony hair so I never got around to it. She pretty much looks like she just rolled out of bed.

Well, I guess I'll try curling it tomorrow. I need to use boiling water to straighten out my DT 2 Lala's hair anyway, so I'll just do both at the same time. Hopefully I can manage not to burn myself this time. When I used boiling water to remove the kinks from DDG Spectra's hair (from the packaging) I burnt my hand pretty badly. Yes, I'm a klutz. lol

One more question; should I pour the boiling water over the doll, or just dunk her head into it?

I did some boil curls with straws on operetta and poured lots of boiling water over it. The curls fell pretty quickly, sadly.

Dunking will hold better, just don't let the faces get in the water or too much steam, or touch it much until the head's cool. Steam loosens the face paint like crazing- found that out dehairing a Cleo.
