So my pony has had a fight with a lawn mower

This is what one of my boys looked like this morning,

it has being two years since he has being clipped properly I have only trimmed him when he was going to a show or something to keep him traditional as it would be. But this year as he is going back driving so feathers and woolly coat are a big no no for me especially since he has to stand up in presentation. That and he had being scratching his back legs lately (there's me having heart attack that he had mites. he didn't)
 it took forever to do him though (well three hours) normally it would only take me 1/2 hour or so but he was beaten around his legs when he was broken in. So I had to hand twich him so my friend tried to hand twich him on his nose, with little luck I nearly had a nice horse shoe mark on me head. she was not impressed when I had to take over and she had to go down to the danger zone. To be fair though she had never twiched  by hand before so was not able to gage if he was coming round or not. well anyway this is what he looks like now.

sweet girl and a lovely colour. I wish I cold have left legs on him but it was just not practical

I just bought new clippers yesterday, but my mare *thankfully* will only need show touch ups at the moment, I'll ease her into full clipping later - although she's more the inquisitive type, she'll probably try to eat them - or headbutt me, that seems to be her anger thing, she's not a kicker, she's a headbutter!
