Can you play an instrument?
« on: March 06, 2013, 11:55:09 AM »
If so let us know. Maybe the forum can start a pony band lol.

If not, would you like to and which would you love to play?

I cannot play anything but one or two songs on the keyboard. I'd love to learn the violin and/or fiddle, and maybe the panflute because that sounds fun. I never had any sort of out of school classes for anything growing up. I think its in part because we were short on funding when my parents got divorced and also in part because I was too busy being a kid and playing with my friends to even think to ask. I never spent much time indoors or alone so I guess it wouldn't have even been a thought that I needed something to keep me busy. Now my aunt, who is the same age as me, was more of an introvert who lived in a neighborhood with not a lot other kids and she could play all sorts of stuff.

Clarinet..but the last time I played one was back in 2002.  I still have the muscle memory though..its a challenging and fussy instrument :)

I was more into singing^^  Tried to get into piano/guitar but im left handed so everything is backards to me (actaully being left handed makes playing woodwinds easier!)

Oh, back in the day, I could play flute, trumpet, french horn and bass clarinet.  I picked up a clarinet a couple of years back and I'm working on that now, and I just got a keyboard to learn that!

I love playing music.

I can play an ocarina, recorder, melodica and keyboard. I'm also flirting with the drum set at the church. I don't know how to play, but it would be fun to learn. Our drum guy had a stroke last year and while he's still alive, he's not "all there" sadly. The music just misses something without the drums.

I used to play piano as a kid and was pretty good for an average non-competitive pre-teen!  I played the trombone all through high school and sat second chair!  I tried to play the trombone the other day just for fun and I've lost a LOT of my lung, mouth, tongue, and lip strength.    I should pick it up again because I'm getting super rusty at even reading music.

Keyboard, guitar (sometimes) and accordion. I picked up the accordion first when I was a kid. It's such a funky instrument, I love it  I know mostly video game music on the keyboard, nothing too serious and crowd wowing. The guitar I'm not very good at, but I try hard to be good. I have a very nice guitar (an ESP H51) and it sounds awesome but my left hand can't keep up with a lot of what I want to play. I do know a bunch of oldschool thrash though.

If I could play any instrument, time and money not an issue or had the ability to instantly learn to play something, it'd probably be the cello. In 7th grade I wanted to play the cello so badly, but they were too expensive to buy or rent and I ended up playing clarinet (my dad played so we had one). My heart was never in it.

I play piano, and I'm trying to learn the guitar. There are so many other instruments I would love to play!

I learned the violin and played it for quite a few years, but I quit about 8 years ago now. Never played it since.

Instead, I moved to another thing that appeals to me more nowadays: the bass guitar. Learning on my own this time, though :)

I started playing oboe in 1999.  :)

I can play a little guitar and would like to get better.  I have an electric bass guitar that I bought with the intention of mastering, but my hands are a little small for the neck.  I just can't bring myself to sell it though.
