Don't like them at all I'm really a G1 collector although I always loved the G3 exclusive ponies and now can't because I don't want that style which is a shame.  To me it's just the same again and again in different colours which I don't get. I started collecting g3 until the core 7 and got over it and sold most of them.  At heart I'm a vintage a collector although I must admit I thought the masquerade pony with the mask was a bit cute ...

Actually, I find this thread a huge relief. I personally hate anything related to G4 with all my heart, and I seriously seem to be the only one. Even people who don't like them say "They're cute, but..." I don't find them cute at all, I really hate them.

To be perfectly honest, negativity isn't always bad, I don't like how "hating" has become a forbidden word around here. You're allowed to hate something. If there are people here who hate G1, do you really think I will feel like you attack me personally? Come on.

I see nothing wrong with disliking a certain gen but really what point is there to "hating" on it? If it isn't meant to make people feel wrong about their choices then it really is just pointless complaining that is a waste of time.

I'm on the all-generation appreciation challenge so I won't say my true feelings at present, but I will say that their design is quite foreign to me with their little anime-esque bodies and deer ears. However, they are cute.

I wouldn't say that I don't like them persay now, but originally when they hit stores all I could think was, "My Little Aliens".  Did I buy them anyways because I started to like the G2s after they were no longer available?  Yes.  The show helped me liking them due to their personalities, but the toys seem to annoy me due to the same poses and no variety.  Last year we lost the house to a fire, lost my pony collection etc.  So logically I started to collect the G4s so I could at least say I've gotten a collection going again.  I also had several WONDERFUL pony peeps send me ponies after it happened.  *Happy dance and how awesome pony collectors make me feel.* 

Now that I have at least one of each of the ponies released (did I mention I detest my army of pinkies since she is released with EVERYTHING?).  I'm looking into getting some of the older gens again.  I love my My Little Aliens, but they are so small and such.  I'm ready to collect ponies again!

I think they're cute! I think people felt the exact same way as you did when G2s came out, and G3s and G3.5s though! I didn't like G3s at first but then I fell for them... G4s was quicker for me, they're just so darn cute.

I really like the toys BECAUSE they look so different. Don't get me wrong.....G1's will always be my favorite, but I really like all generations. I like to see how the line changes, and what stays the same about it. Especially having a pony like Apple Jack in the G4 line. I like seeing G1, G3 and G4 AJ all lined up together. I am still not sold on the size....I do prefer the FS size, but I don't hate the smaller size either. I think it makes the potential for variety. G4 has the babies, the regular brushables, the boy size and the Alicorn size. There is even the difference in Celestia vs. Luna. For me....when I think about them in terms of toys and not collectibles....thinks that it gives kids so much more. The other generations looked more like horses, but they were all the same size for the most part.

I didn't at first, but I didn't love G2 at first either-  they grow on you    I never did like G 3.5, but all of the other generations I find to be very very cute and fun-  I am so happy ponies have not disappeared!

I love them all, well still trying to get use to the G2 ponies.............
