yes!

I never had a real one, but fake mini ones were a common showbag novelty back then.

I love 80s toys- like crazy!

I also like the fact that they're mainly pastel colours. In the 90s, toys and their packaging started being mainly magenta, hot pink and purple ('m guessing at some point, market research discovered that little girls like these colours more? idk) and I really hate that because everything looks so harsh and ugly. I just like the way pastel colours look when they're displayed together, it looks so cute and everything matches! :)

I don't know that I'd necessarily agree-  Rainbow Brite and Jem were definitely not pastel- and both are two of my favorite 80s lines -   Strawberry Shortcake was more like Red and Blue and Green too come to think of it...

I remember 80's packaging to be a lot of black with hot colors.  Hot pink, hot yellow, hot blue, neon green, neon orange.  The more colors the better.  Bright, bold, rainbows, color, shapes, eye-catching.

I remember pastels too, but it depended on the toy.

I love them a lot also, I am also a huge fan of toys before the 80's too.  The only thing I didn't like about the 80's was that many toys saw a cheaper fabric used in their clothing compared to the 60's or 70's and by far worse in quality than 1950.  So each decade has its good points and bad points but I wasn't fond of the introduction of velcro replacing quality snaps and the like that the 80's brought, but the colors certainly are very nice.

I hated velcro.  Snaps and zippers were so much better.  I still hate velcro.

I adore 80's toys! I was born in May of '90, but I had quite a few 80's hand-me-down toys from my cousins who were born in the very early 80's and my nana and papa had a laundry basket full of 80's toys for us to play with when we would visit. I love collecting vintage toys from the 80's! They were some of the best toys of my childhood! That and many 90's toys too! I wonder if my nana and papa still have those toys in that laundry basket. Hmmmm. . .

yes! 80's toys are amazing!  I wish I had more of them when I was a kid! (born in 89)  Pastels are one of my favorite aspects but they did that in the early 90's too (like vintage polly pocket and littlest pet shop).  I just wish I was born a few years earlier so I could have appreciated the really awesome toys more...

Am I the only one who thinks of hot colors when I think of the 80s?  Then again, maybe I am just old. Early 80s was all sorts of fluorescent bright mixed up colors. The pastels must be the late 80s.

I think of neon more than pastels.

In the early 80's toy packaging was more pastel. After 85 it became far more vibrant.
By 87 it was full neon with dolls like Spectra, Jem, and Barbie and the Rockers.
Even the classic toys like Lego switched to vivid reds and yellows on the boxes.

Love them! I have MLP, Wuzzles, Moon Dreamers, Transformers, and Glo Worms! I have a cabinet that's a bit ol' tribute to the 80s child!

80's toys reflect the era.  Fashion was insane.  MTV actually played music videos.  AND EVERYONE WAS SO YOUNG!! ;n;  Moon Dreamers glowed in the dark, that was one of my most treasured memories.
