Can we please talk about piggy ponies?!

I've had a stressful night last night and for some reason I keep thinking about this Spanish Piggy Pony I saw on ebay yesterday and I can't help but get a little smile on my face. They really are the strangest thing I have ever seen!
Does anyone have any info about how they came about? They have the strangest, chubbiest little bodies! And those eyes! They kind of creep me out in a weird cute-ish kind of way

I would love to see pictures if anyone has any!

Have you checked out the Nirvana gallery? I don't think all of the Piggies are shown in there yet (at least, not all of the variations), but it does have quite a few

Aren't they adorable?  I don't expect to ever own a real one so I am hoping one of our clever customizers will someday mold one and start making copies.  (hint hint...)

While that might be fun, I don't know how I'd feel about that. Piggies are so special, I don't think reproductions would be the best  idea.

Piggies are so cute. Man...I remember there was one in a lot of ponies on goodwill.com, and she went for so cheap! I remember the person posting like, "uh....is this suppose to be here?" and we were all like, "you lucky pony!" lol

My wallet is safe from Piggy ponies at least. I just can't get past the creepy eyes. I love their sweet smile but *shudders* the eyes kill it for me.

I love the Piggy ponies - different - but SOooooo cute!
I would, of course,  LOVE to own one.....but only discovered them after I had retired......so it may never happen that I will ever own one     *sigh*

I love them too.  I only have one (see the pic under my name).  I would LOVE to own more but getting hold of them seems to be very difficult for me, plus so many other temptations like Brazil Milky Way, Ladybird etc etc etc

Really? *LOL* I didn't know that!! I do remember them from when I was a child. In fact, the club where I went horse riding gave them as prize during the carnival shows!

The spotlights are still up at the Archived Arena, just no pictures.
There are many spots archived over there and I think the pictures are stored in the Nirvana gallery here now.
