I bought a Big Brother Salty from an Arena member a while back.  When I got him, I did the usual "pony spa" routine like I do with all my ponies when I get them.  His tail was a little dry, so I decided to give it quick fix with my straightener.  Well... silly me forgot to turn the heat setting down and ended up frying a big chunk out of his tail!  Thankfully he was a rehair. xD  I would have been SO mad at myself if it had been his original hair.

I was giving my G4 Pinkie Pie curls and I forgot she was standin underneath a lamp. When I finally remembered I ran up the stairs and checked up on her. I was fast enough I guess because her legs were only wobbly/starting to melt. I put her under a cold faucet, it helped!

I had a worse experience while customizing though. And honestly, I don't know how to fix this..

I had made a custom G4 BonBon. Looked absolutely precious, especially for a first time! I decided I should style her hair and I put it in place with hair bands and such. The paint melted, her hair got stuck in the paint, I could pull of the hair bands, but they left nasty marks, almost looking like scars..

She's standing amongst my collection, but she still looks bad.
I feel so bad for her. ;_;

Now not my picture but one I saved from years ago because it is just so awesome! Poor pony roadkill.

I think this picture might belong to nibbles but I am not 100% sure.

I really needed this thread, as in, I'm not the only one.

I just got a Powder this week that smells mildew, she smells "old basement" with a hint of sweat. I read on the MLP Trading Post that if there's no tail rust or discolouration by the base of the mane, the pony is probably fine on the inside and the smell is just on the outside, putting it in a container with e.g. baking soda will do. Even though I had read this I tried to remove her head anyway. I wish I had tried the baking soda before I did that. Apparently I can only remove heads on baby ponies. I managed to rip the head plug a bit, in two places. She still looks okay on the outside so I'm not going to try any more. She's in a bag with baking soda (and a container of vinegar) now and there's actually some progress after only two days. I hope she'll be fine. Glad I'm not the only one and thanks for the "what not to do's".

I literally managed to melt a BB Rainbow Dash with acetone a few months back. I was having a tough time getting the paint out of the little cracks and crevices, so I decided to soak her in a little cup of acetone for a while.

About 15 minutes later she came out as a rubber pony. She's managed to solidify a bit since then, but it looks like her skin is peeling off in a few places. Maybe I'll make her a zombie pony...

I've been pretty lucky... The worst experience I ever had was when I put my Princess Rinse'n'Spit in an Oxy Clean bath... The heart on her head had iridescent paint on it, not unlike that of TE ponies, and it all came off when I bathed her. :( It's all dull now...

I have this thing where white ponies need to be WHITE. I had gotten a so soft Taffy in the mail and decided her head and body were not matching so I put her head under a heat lamp. I got distracted cleaning the other ponies I had gotten that day and I burned her eye off :(

The worst I've managed to do so far wasn't to a pony, but myself. Sliced my finger pretty good trying to get a head off.

At least I now know the dangers of acetone and lamps.
