Storage/Showing off~

Hello everyone! I have a question for you: How do you store/show-off your ponies?

I have all mine set up so you can see all of them. Well not all of them. I have some of the NIB G3 ponies at a angle so they can all fit. I can post pictures if you want to see.

Most people use book shelves with some sort of riser system so you can display multiple rows on the same shelf. you can easily make risers out of foam board and hot glue- or just set up your books like steps for the ponies to stand on.

for storage big plastic totes seem the most popular but I'm not that found of keeping ponies in them long term because of plastic breakdown issues that can happen and I always worry there legs will get warped in there...

I just keep mine on an Ikea Billy bookcase

Currently I have two ikea billy bookcases with glass doors (you buy everything separately). My display room isn't painted or decorated yet so for now I don't have them out.

I have a very large collection, so when I am done with the room while some will be on display most will have to remain in storage while we stay in this house (not enough space). For storage I have them in corrugate boxes, up off the floor and labeled. Ponies inside are in fold top sandwhich bags with additional air holes. then each wrapped in white acid free tissue to prevent paint rubbing or yellowing(* acid free vs. gift wrap tissue). Some poses (like love melody pose, or milky way pose) I've stuffed tissue inside a fold top bag and placed that between legs to prevent any smooshing. I used smaller sized boxes for loose ponies, and padded well around each again, so there isn't too much weight of the ponies inside to deform or smoosh any out of shape. So softs I cut down staples copy paper boxes so they're shorter, lined the box with bubblewrap and made stalls for each pony. There's a single layer of ponies in each box so soft box. each again is in one or two fold top bags (not tightly, so as not to dent flocking. some poses are larger so I slip one bag over the head, and another at the butt end for those) and because they're so delicate I used scrunched up fold top bags to pad the spaces between those.

I have an Ikea Billy bookcase with glass door for mine too. They fit/display well in there with playsets too, except for the castle which is on top!

I use IKEA Billy bookcases too. I used to only use them for books. Ha.

There are a lot of different options for it, it's probably best to go to the IKEA site and just search for Billy.

I have a few out on display. Some are on my bookshelf and desk and night table. I have a little table with my Rainbow Dash army, but most of mine are stored in plastic storage bins

I posted a picture in another thread today. I buy old shower racks from thrift stores. I cut out a piece of cardboard big enough so it just fits over the shelve.  Then I cover the cardboard with a handkerchief. It's cheap.

I am fortunate enough to have a pony room so all my ponies [or those which are organised] are on display along with their accessories [or this which are organised]. Like so many collectors [and people of the world in general] I display them all on Ikea white Billy bookcases! Thank goodness for Ikea and reasonably priced shelving!

I second that! I also have and like the white bookcases, it really allows the colours of the mlp's to "pop".

Once I get my pony room finished, I'll be taking pics. But I actually have one now, heehee
I have 2 pantries from Walmart (1 single, 1 double), a media shelf, and a ladder shelf for my ponies. Plus 2 storage tubs of G3s not on display as I ran out of shelves - each pony is in their own little ziploc baggie.
