Clawd comparison?
« on: February 15, 2013, 06:19:55 AM »
I was wondering if anyone can tell me if Forbitten Love Clawd and 1600 Clawd have a matching skin tone. Im trying to figure out if the spare 1600 arms Mattel is selling would fit with Forbitten Clawd.

I would imagine they would both have the same color bodies but I can't be 100% sure since I only have the Forbitten Love Clawd and not the 1600 one. I know all of the dolls body colors are supposed to stay the same consistantly but I know I've seen differences between lines for some dolls.. Operetta being one (at least in mine).

Yeah, I remember people posting about variations for other dolls, so I figured asking was best. I hope someone is able to answer :)

I have both Clawds - so I took a few photos for you.

Sorry about the lighting. But here's our dudes ! Forbitten Love on your left, Sweet 1600 on your right.
They're the same color and height, just Sweets is on a stand and in shadow.

Here's the arms in question. They were made close enough together to get the same arm plugs. It's kind of
fun to track how that ball at the end has changed from year to year.

About the only difference is finish. I'd describe Sweets as more of a glossy finish, with Love bringing a matte.
On the dolls, however, it's almost impossible to tell the difference, save for the bend wrist.

The colors match, so unless there's been major fading - and mine have been around windows and outside -
you should be able to arm swap with impunity, and no one will know the difference, save you and Clawd (and
the odd mega-fan who knows which arm 'should' go with which doll).

Hope this helped !

I ordered the Sweet 1600 arms for my Forbitten Love Clawd a little while ago and can also confirm them being a match. :) Mattel has really quick shipping on their spare parts, I got them in two shipping days after my order was placed.

Great comparison pics Dorriebelle!

(blush) Thanks, Mandy ! Few months back, another online friend wondered if he could arm-swap between just-released sig Jackson and no-bend-wrist-yet Deuce, and I took similar photos. Even I hadn't realized before then that Deuce and Jackson have very different skin tones ! Deuce is a bit ruddy, and Jackson's almost glitter-vamp pale. He said the photos helped, so I took nearly the same ones for Mania's query.

And I'll back you up on Mattel's excellent replacement part service. I got a bunch of duplicate pieces for the School playset, and they were roughly half the price for twice as much as eBay. I even got a spare frog ! Got five of them - that's 15 eyes ! - now. Shipping's kinda high if you just want one thing, but they really are good.  And you know you're not getting knockoff quality !

Gah! He is so adorable.  I hope they decide to release another version of him someday. He's my most liked MH boy.

I replaced my sig Clawd's lower arms with a spare Sweet 1600 Clawd's arms a while ago. They look fine colorwise.

Now all my boys except Holt have articulated wrists.

Im excited! I have Forbitten Clawd coming, along with a set of 1600 arms. I love the wrist joints, so Im super thrilled that this is going to work out! He will be my third boy. I already have Sig Jackson, and Scaris Deuce. I only want Holt and Gil after this. Saving the most expensive for last. Im hoping by the time I can afford either of them, they might be rereleased. Of course, I will need to get Heath when he comes out :)

It seems like Clawd's prices are really getting up there. I think I like 1600 better. Great comparison pictures!

I have to agree with liking 1600 better.  But as you say, his prices are really getting up there. So I didn't try to get him. :( some day I would like to have him though.

In really looking forward to seeing what he looks like when they release him this year. It was mentioned in the discussion thread that Clawd, Gil, Holt & Deuce will be the boys this year. But that was for Australia I think. Still, means a chance to get them cheaper!

Here's hoping that the new Clawd will look more handsome. :)

Too bad we didn't get Roller Maze guys. That would have been a great way to release them even if they were budget line or in multipack sets. I just want more boys that aren't impossible to find on the shelves.
