Thank you so much everyone for the lovely comments, especially on my childhood collection.
As you can imagine, I was pony obsessed as a kid and most of my pocket money was saved up towards ponies, plus the collection grew over four years through birthday and Christmas presents and ponies instead of Easter eggs. This is why I could never sell the childhood collection, so many ponies remind me of the lovely relatives that bought them for me who have sadly passed away.
I always thought myself as very fortunate to have such a collection and looked after them all as best I could, even when they were finally put away into storage. Whenever I played with them, I washed my hands beforehand and made friends wash their hands before touching them too (O.C.D. anyone?)
I'm also very happy that the flutter ponies have survived, the wings that have broken off are safely stored away to be reattached when I get my display cabinet.
NBBE Baby Gusty is one of my favourite ponies and she was a surprise Christmas present from Gran in 1987. I also remember getting a gift voucher from Uncle Gibby and Auntie Mary in a Christmas card that year. Mum said she has seen something I would like and asked for the token. After I had opened Baby Gusty to much delight, Mum handed me a wrapped gift and it was adult Gusty! She had bought her for me using the token so I had both Mum and baby together on Christmas Day, such a great childhood memory.
Here is a pic of my Mums and Babies, looking forward to Steamer joining Cotton Candy and Baby Cotton Candy to make up another family
