PonyIsland (an online pony breeding game, for those that don't know) held a custom contest recently and the theme was rainbows. This is my entry :)

I've made a custom with similar colors and a rainbow theme before, for a swap, and truth be told, I loved her. So I already wanted to make one for myself and when the contest was announced it was a no brainer. I wasn't sure if I would make the deadline since they only gave us a month, but I finished her the night before closing.

Her base and wings were made with Apoxie. All the painting done with Createx airbrush paints, including a pearlized finish. Her hair is Starlight that I dyed with RIT. This was not the first time I've dyed hair, but it is my first gradient dye (it took forever :P ).

Very happy with how she turned out considering I almost scrapped her halfway through, but I knew I wouldn't make the deadline if I started over so I pushed on. Glad I did. She's so sparkly! Thanks for looking! :)

Oh wow, she's stunning!  She reminds me of an opal with all the lovely shimmery colours.  Good luck in the contest!

Brilliant!!  Her colors are just beyond awesome!  She is cheerful with a little bit of a mystical quality to her.
