I don't have very many success stories yet, but I do have a few frizzy-haired ponies hanging around that I might try to fix sometime soon :) But I do have pics of my personal favorite de-frizz job so far!

Lulabelle was my first G3, her hair was pretty...bad.

Her hair is still drying in this picture, but good enough :)

I've got 1 I took pictures of...
It was this Paradise from a lot. Her fuzz was chipped and terribly dirty plus falling out. Her hair was...well bad.

But, with laundry detergent, the curling iron and patience

...plus new flocking!

She became much better. I think another thing she had going for her is that the hair color responds well to  the detergent/curling iron method.

I love seeing a successful de-frizz. Some frizz is impossible to rid of (I think) while some will go out with enough elbow grease. I hope everyone's got cool de-frizz photos to add!

Looks like Paradise is no longer lost!

Not just a defrizz, but a general cleanup on Hidden Treasure:

I'll have to get a decent picture of my Starglow. I've only got before pictures taken at the moment...

How did you get the (ink?) Out of her eyes?

I found me a nice pony-sized mini flattening iron at a flea market today, and just ran out of ponies to de-frizz.  That must mean I need more ponies!    I'm quite pleased how the girls turned out, just waiting for them to dry up to their new hairdos.

My first defrizzes, yay!  This is what Tootie Tails and Sky Dancer looked before and after flat-iron treatment. Both had their hair conditioned and combed beforehand, so not the hugest difference, but notable still!

All cheered up! ^.^ (Although I still hate Tootie's mane, it's all puffy and gets all over her face... I'll have to flip it over to her ND side, maybe that way it'll stop bothering me.)

Geez, I've been away from the forum for ages. This is the first thread I read when I come back and it reminds me of why I love ponies and makes me itch to have a spa day for some of my collection. Unfortunately I don't have them with me at the moment!

These girls all look fabulous everyone, good job!

Currently I'm using one from a brand called Carmen, but a cheap dollar store one worked for me before.
It's really just the heat, and the pull on it as you pull the hair through the flat iron, that fixes the frizz. Perhaps you've got yourself a few stubborn ponies? From what I've understood, some just have harder to deal with hair then others.

Have you tried washing an conditioning their hair and leaving it a bit wet while you work with the iron? That tends to help quite a bit.

Also I noticed that you'll need to angle the iron as if you were curling, pulling the hair straight trough did nothing for me too. (In case you didn't try that already )

This :D Its also important to not neglect the conditioning before hand and doing very small sections of the hair at a time is important when you get a really frizzy one. I also only use cold water on mine as I've noticed it gives them a lot more shine~
For flat irons I pick ceramic ones, they can be a little pricy, but they heat really evenly and hold a steady temperature well so you don't get any nasty surprises. The only other thing I look for is indicator lights- a lot of higher end ones will have red and green lights to tell you when its up to temperature. This really comes in handy as your working because you know when to pause for a sec and let your iron heat back up.
