into the dolly world i go. help finding shoes
« on: February 11, 2013, 04:18:55 PM »
Hi. so i never had dolls as a child, just ponies.
i recently got a few monster high dolls because i thought the skeleton one was cute. made them some clothes. but i found a few other dolls that have really caught my interest.
liv dolls and Gavin the boy from the Moxie Teenz set.
liv dolls are harder to find, and my puppy's destroyed the one i have. but i really like the design and the eyes are killer! she can wear barbie clothes which i love.

but right now my obsession is Gavin. (i'll post pics later.) he looks so much like one of my ocs. except his eye color. i was planning on customizing him, but i like him too well.
i have been trying to find clothes, though i'm not against making some myself. he's a 14.5" 15" doll.
any good place to buy them pre-made? so far no clothes for him aside from his release outfit.
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

i want to get him new shoes. maybe something from a ball-joint site. his feet are 1 5/8" what size should i be looking for? any advice?

these are the ones i plan on making.
if you know where to find them for reasonable prices or trades, or have a pattern to share that would be awesome.

tops
long sleeve t-shirt
short sleeve t-shirt
hooded sweatshirt
neck tie
suspenders.

bottoms
jeans
cargo pants.
belt

shoes
not sure how to go about this, but i want sneakers.
and i'm not sure if socks will even work. but i want those too.

so anyway. i still have my ponies, but i find i really like making and finding doll clothes more.
not sure if it will progress to resin bjds, but for now i'm happy buying them in stores and off the shelf.

anyone else have gavin and have any ideas or plans? love to hear them.

My Gavin (I call him Drake) is the death of me. Not very much fits him. Ken t-shirts will fit him, but not much else. I've heard that some Ellowyne pants might work or maybe some MyScene boys pants.

He's a gorgeous boy, but he's hard to dress. If you want to see some of what I've done with my Drake, my Flickr link is in my sig.

i stole his "jeans" from a justin beiber doll.
like them, but of course they're short. like to either make new ones or buy some.
really want to buy a pair of sneakers, but the ball joint doll sites confuse me.
1/4 1/3? what are the sizes of the dolls? how do i know if the shoe will fit? if i pay 15$ i want to make sure i can use them.
cost more than the doll.

The 1/4 and 1/3 is the size of the doll itself. So, what you want to do is convert your foot measurement to cm. Most of your shoes should have an inside cm measurement. Match that and you are good to go!
I
OK, look for shoes bigger than 4.1275 cm on inside measurement. I hadan oddesy trying to find shoes for my 71 cm tall boy, it was rough!!

hmmm, let me dig! I used Mint on card for mine!

ok, so they DO have shoes in for your boy, a couple of cute ones! It looks like you are looking for Tiny BJD shoes. Just check the description for size reference, as you might need to go up to Mini You can also be in on a pre-order, but they take a looooong time, or can. So, narrow the search by "in-stock" at the top. look through each brand, too

I would also check Ebay, I have ordered from Blue Blood Dolls and like them!

http://stores.ebay.com/blueblooddoll2008?_trksid=p2047675.l2563  (I hope a store link is ok!!)
