That's really cool It's neat to find out we still pay $4.99 (approximately) for ponies today
The fact that the cost of ponies has not increased dramatically despite across the board increases in everything else probably explains the dramatic DE-crease in quality/detail/unique molds.

I remember when I got my Rosedust - all the flutter ponies were $4.99, but Rosedust for whatever reason was $6.99! I had to be sneaky, because mom wouldn't have let me get her otherwise. Twin sets were ... around $11.99 or so?
Wow! I'm a 90's kid, so it's weird to think that these advertisements are older than me, yet I collect and play with them. It's nice to know that things like this are enjoyed for a long time by many different generations of children (and adults!) makes me happy to be a toy collector. :3c
